I forgot to charge my tablet today, and then forgot to check that it was charging.  Two things I normally do and missed both of them  :o

I am slowly reading Anne Tyler's "Back When We Were Grownups" for my book discussion on Monday.  I am bored and missing most of the humor.  Maybe it is my mood, or I am just not into her writing style, or I do recall the movie and that it was better than the book.

Don't you hate it when that happens?

Well, I'm off to the sitzprobe for Rocky.  I'm going to try to fix the blood color so that it's not so brown.  I brought the clear detergent and bought some more red food coloring.  I'm sure that it'll help...we'll see!

Be back later.

I am still attempting to navigate the medical maze. I had a call from my acupuncturist this morning saying that the phone number that my HMO had given her was incorrect. I then spent an hour on the phone with the HMO, explaining that we were on a wild goose chase and looking for an alternative. I was told that my request HAD to go through my medical group, but could be submitted by my PCP. We're trying that route, but in the past the medical group has had no knowledge of the HMO's acupuncture benefits, so I don't have a lot of hope. I have the option of paying cash for my acupuncture visits, but it's clearly a medical necessity and I feel they should cough up. (Fat chance.)

Each time I deal with an HMO I am astounded by the inefficiency. We can fly to the moon,  but we can't streamline these organizations. I have to ask who is benefitting from this. It certainly isn't the patients.

Vibes it all works out soon.

As I recall, the fondant and the grandfather figure got a little tiresome to me, but I loved the food humor. The movie, well, had Blythe Danner, one of my favorites, so I loved it.

Started watching the latest version of The Seagull. Great cast. Annette Bening is Arkadina, the role I saw Joanne Woodward play onstage. She's ugly, fearless and right. Brian Dennehy, Soairse Ronan, Mare Winningham and Elisabeth Moss are among the rest of the cast.

I won't be able to stop watching this Seagull tonight until it's over. It's that good.

Yes, site was down for a bit - same problem with the server - I thought he was moving us a few days ago, but that hasn't happened yet - but will soon.

We went out for dinner and our server was wonderful.

TCB, I wonder if one of those extra guests you saw was me, when I checked the site from my phone, but wasn't logged in.

That was strange.  It took 3 attempts to get autocorrect to stop capitalizing THE BOOK even though I was typing in lower case.

So, I didn't get to fix the blood tonight.  The bottle of blood that I brought last night had already been packed into Anita's car.  Anita is the other person working on props.  The cast didn't need any props for the sitzprobe, so the stage manager and Anita packed up what they could into their cars to bring to the theater on Saturday morning.  I'll bring what I have on Saturday, fix the blood, the see how things go!

We are meeting at 1:00, but I should get there an hour early, just to read the entire menu.

I guess we are having rehearsal next week, even though those days were not marked on our initial schedule.
