Thanks for the notes on King Kong, KevinH. And the Book of Merman sounds better than the Book of Mormon.

Back from the above mentioned three errands. The oil change was quick; I was in and out of there in no time at all.

Surprisingly, so was the voting. I was in and out of there in ten minutes. It felt anticlimactic, and I hope the activity at this polling place picks up later.

The stop at the shoe repair shop held the only unpleasant surprise:  I hadn’t had a pair of shoes resoled in years, but since when does it cost $95.00??

Somebody recently told me they regretted never purchasing the 1956 G. Schirmer vocal score for Bernstein's CANDIDE, and for the life of me I cannot remember who it was.  I was just browsing on eBay and came across the vocal score.

I’ve got mine. I also have whichever edition it was (1970s?) that’s in hardcover. Haven’t looked at these in a good long while.

Now I’m browsing eBay. Definitely a few scores of interest.

Maybe BK will issue A CAROL CHRISTMAS someday.  :)

The only thing I don't like about it is not getting the "I Voted" stickers anymore. :-\

So, Robin, who had never been in a marathon before, finished in 7 + hours.  She isn't a runner, so she walked almost all of it.   I met her as she was walking in Central Park.   I was able to walk with her for about a mile and a half.   We're all proud of her.  Barbra thanked her on Facebook for raising money for the Cedars-Sinai Women's Heart Center.

Congrats to Robin!  My average walking speed is about 3 miles per hour (I've done the Relay for Life walk, so I've timed myself doing that).  It probably would've taken me about 9 hours to walk the marathon!

That would be cool!  BK's script AND score to his WELCOME TO MY WORLD were Indiegogo perks for that show's campaign!

I was looking mostly at old French and German operetta scores.

They can't do anything until the tenth - which is a Saturday, so I can't call until the 12th.  Then they reissue the check but it gets mailed, which means by the time they do that and I get it it's probably the 15th.  This is screwed up and I am FURIOUS.

I was the speaker at a garden club meeting this morning. Then I voted. Now I am baking and making some dips for a meeting I am hosting tonight. Often I stop to sit on an ice pack for a few minutes.

Thank you all for the sciatica vibes. This pain is really quite minor compared to what a lot of people experience. I am just always on the go, so it is hard to have to slow down. I am certainly a morning person, so sitting on an ice pack for two hours in the morning really messes me up.

Is that a solid 2 hours on ice?  That seems like way to long at once.

Greetings from Amtrak Train 141!   Philadelphia is next.

I have taken the trains between Philly, DC, and NY.  I like the speed train the best.

I guess you're talking about the Acela train, DR Jane.  I have never taken it. It's a lot more expensive than the regular train and it's only about about 35 or so minutes faster.

The polls in Virginia are closed.  Senator Tim Kaine has been projected to be re-elected.  No surprise.

Right.  From DC to NY I appreciated the savings in time as I could have used the ice pack DR Laura has been using.  From PA to DC I took the regular train.

Splurging on the faster train is different when you don't use it on a regular basis.
