Well, I finally got the e-mail about the first two A Christmas Story rehearsals this week.  Nobody is rehearsing tonight (Monday).  The Old Man and the female ensemble are called at 7 pm on Tuesday, and the male adult ensemble, Mother, Ralphie and Randy are called at 8 pm.  I'm not called on Wednesday.

Tried posting photos from the session - wouldn't take them even after I got them down to a small size kb-wise.  I don't get it.

And now, I'm off to bed.  Today, the family is gathering at my sister's, so I'll go there for a while.  Otherwise, I'll be watching TV and doing laundry here at home. :)

Have a good day, all!

I winterized too well, so this morning  I need to remove the comforter and set it at the foot of the bed.

Both Annabelle and Thatch are behaving strangely this morning.  Annabelle may be coming down with a cold - I hope not! - and Thatch preferred to play with one of his ball games rather than eat.  Annabelle ate his breakfast.  This has me puzzled since he usually eats everything within reach.

I am also worried that I am turning into my mother.  Last night I completely forgot to check their water dishes, so both dishes  were empty this morning.  Between grades 1-12 I cannot tell you how many times we went to school without breakfast (no milk? no cereal? I meant to go to the store last night) or we ran out of light bulbs or toilet paper (I meant to go to the store last night).

T.O.D.

A better question for me would be: "What aren't my favorite films of Orson Welles?"

Great or not so great, Welles' work is fascinating, if not for the finished product itself, then the way he accomplished it with a nothing budget.

If you've yet to read (or listen to) my one-person play, ORSON WELLES, please do.  Edward French is magnificent in the audio edition.

I'm afraid that the approach of hiding Dad's shoes wouldn't work, because Dad was found barefoot. The neighbor who took him in wrapped his feet up in towels until Mom could come get him because it was brutally cold outside.

Good reminder. Someone had actually purchased tickets for a group of us to go to that 'MERRILY' -- but I think it conflicts with something, so I can't join, or will have to consider seeing it later...  or not...

That is sad.  Did you live far from a market?  I would have thought as you got older you and your siblings would have begun shopping, or even keeping some food in your bedrooms for emergencies.
