Tom's good as the narrator.  I'm enjoying the show most when he's onstage.

I am working my way through the epilogue of Berlin Alexanderplatz. For the first 13.5 hours, we were in a German expressionistic view of Berlin in the 1920s. Suddenly, in the epilogue, the director has gone all operatic with scenes in an insane asylum and prison beyond anything we've seen before. One scene had our her chained and being whipped while a disco ball hangs by his head. A naked man is snaking his way around the floor while also being whipped. Then, all of a sudden Janis Joplin is singing My and Bobby McGee. This was followed by an orgy in a slaughterhouse in a mess of blood. The villain has just shown up with a crown of thorns on his head. I can't take much more of this tonight.

I’m having trouble motivating myself to decorate for Christmas.  I’ve done a bit, but it’s slow going this year.

Not surprising with your eye bothering you an all of your activities.

Yeah, DR Jane, I really could have done without this eye problem right now...

We never want these problems but sometimes the timing makes it worse.

[Jane]

I've been busy with some laundry and cleaning. Brian and I have both been busy, so he hasn't been here.

Too bad.  I know I am very grateful to have someone come once every other week.

This has only been since my surgery and flood but we plan to keep the help.

I'm really looking forward to A Carol Christmas tomorrow.

Finished a wonderful feel good motion picture - Green Book.  Highly recommended.  Yes by the numbers, yes predictable, yes formula, but very well done, funny and touching, and two great Oscar-worthy performances - one by an actor I've never liked, Viggo Mortensen, and one by Mahershala Ali.

I hadn't heard about this but now I want to see it.

The church Christmas party was tonight. That was a lot of work.

We fed 510 people tonight. The meal consisted of brisket, sausage, tamales, rice and beans, bread, pickles and onions, a jalapeno and a cookie. Folks seemed appreciative and we had quite a few back for seconds.

This is nice.

Tom and I and Tom's friend Tracy had dinner at Applebee's close to the theater.

We're still here, but we're probably going to go our separate ways fairly soon...just not yet.

And we're done!  Tom and Tracy have said our goodbyes and we're off to our respective homes.  I have the drive down to Tumwater ahead of me, so I'll say good night now.
