Reading DR Jed's description of job hunting makes me more grateful than you can know that those times are behind me. Oh, my nerves!

It is going to be 71 here tomorrow (at least according to the forecasters).

Of course, today, it rained while the dishwasher was being brought it, and after the installer left, I had a nice time mopping the kitchen floor. It was a muddy mess.

I have been doing research for my play that takes place in the Castro area of San Francisco during the first part of the 1980's. What place it once was, decimated by AIDS.

Won't get a chance to see MEDIUM until tomorrow since the DVR caught it while I was watching CSI: MIAMI.

Any comments on tonight's MEDIUM?

Have you ever been to San Francisco? The Castro District?

I'm assuming the reading/signing is happening, as I've not heard otherwise.

Hmmm....

I've been researching music programs for the Mac.  Quite a nice number of products out there.  Everything from ear training to music notation to high-end audio editing.

I noticed that the company that makes Finale (music notation software) is currently running a very nice special competitive upgrade deal right now.  If I send in my master disk from Encore, I can actually get a hefty $400 discount on the software!  Hmm... I was looking at Finale's Print Music software at the Apple Store tonight.  Very nice, and very basic.  Just what I need.  But for a couple of more bucks and my Encore master disk, I can get the full-fledged program.  And, here's the clincher, Finale can import my "old" Encore files now.   Hmm...  Decisions, decisions.

And the competive upgrade is also just a few - well, more than a few - bucks more than the Mac version of Encore which I'm going to have to invest in soon.

Guess MOST people haven't had really great Valentine's Days.  Or at least ones that stuck out as great.  It's sorta like New Years Eve.  You expect SO much...and end up settling for whatever.

I remember one years ago, going to see Peter Allen when he did "Up In One."  It was at the what I think is the Henry Fonda theater now...can never remember when they change their names.

His songs were like the soundtrack of my relationship at the time...(and it lasted like 14 years....so no complaints).

Should get New York New York tomorrow...one of the few things I WON....back in college, there was a radio station that gave away movie tickets to the premier...and I WON...I had to beg, coax, plead with a few friends to see it....If for nothing else, "New York New York" became a standard of our lives....and somehow Frank stole it from LIza.  But it has the "happy ending" stuff....(i think)....so should be fun.

Well, I'm afraid I must Wussburger... Just really tired.  Who knew getting up at 8:00am would have this sort of detrimental affect on my late night web-surfing activities.

-DR TCB - That's your cue!

So...

Oh, and I still haven't packed or cleaned or anything... I guess I'll be scrambling in the morning when I wake up.

Oh... And I think my body is starting to go into it's usual "Hey, the shows over now, so now you can get sick" mode.  I've been sniffly and sneezy all night.  Ugh.

Ah, well...

Maybe I just need sleep.

Goodnight.

Well, you also just see so much "more" of Mr. Meloni in "OZ" than on "L&O:SVU".

Great Lenya story DR ELMORE......she would have been a secretary like Frances Farmer was a secretary.  She worked for a photographer in Eureka California for a few years.  And probably the senior classes of 1955-58 could never get reprints of their photos.....who knew where the negatives went!

Roy Chapman Andrews!  elmore, that is a name I haven't heard in ages.  I think, as a kid, I had a book by him called ALL ABOUT DINOSAURS...Wasn't he the one who thawed out a frozen mammoth and he and other scientists actually ate some of it or something like that?

At chorale rehearsal this evening, whilst rehearsing the Mozart Requiem, our director said he wanted one particular part to sound "Bombastic!"  I am not making that up.

I know, it's a day or two late for the word of the day...but what can you do...
