So far I have set and reset the altar, set and reset coffeehour, attended a church service where I was lay reader, done some banking, bought two egg sandwiches, one of which I ate and the other was given toVixdad

Now I am cooking some rotini to which I will add some sauce and bring it to church for our 12:30 potluck to be followed by the greening of the church

I kept seeing a vegetarian dish on menus called kase spaetzle. My sister ordered it tonight (without prompting) and it was like a homemade mac and cheese. Heavenly.

The again, so was my Jaegerschnitzel with wild mushrooms and a great gravy thst flavored the spaetzle in a different way.

Plus, the gasthaus had two cats at the door, one of whom let me pet her.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  I accompanied Fr. Richard to church today because he was up front, doing the ante-communion and the homily.  We went to Scrambler Marie’s for a nice brunch and to CVS and Walgreens for the last of the holiday shopping.  Home now to make caramel corn.

DR TCB, you asked last night about rice pudding.  It’s not really a Christmas tradition, but it is one of Richard’s favorite things to eat.  He found a new recipe and we’d had Chinese carry-out the other night, so I used up the leftover rice.  It’s not bad, but I used too much of the rice, so it’s not very pudding-y.  Next time...

I spent the day lying down with Annabelle on my lap and Thatch at my side, dozing through the PBS cooking shows.  I'm now having some Progresso chicken soup with ten chopped cloves of garlic.  On Friday, when I know this cold was coming on, I thought I'd get through some of my Christmas book, but my eyes are too ache-y.
