I think tonight Annabelle, Thatch, and I will watch the ballet of A Christmas Carol.  I like Carl Davis' score very much and there's so much emotion in it.  In the Christmas Yet to Come dream, Bob Cratchit's dance with the dead Tiny Tim's crutch is heartbreaking.

Same Carl Davis who scores silent movies?

Never seen this. Is someone broadcasting it, or are you watching a DVD?

It's an Arthaus DVD I've had since 2006.  I love Carl Davis' work!  He's an American who went to London in the 1960s and had a great career.  I have a lot of his recordings.  His score for this ballet is really wonderful: lotta carol adaptation, some singing, wonderful performances/

I am skipping the Christmas Eve service tonight, because there is someone I am avoiding: a person who thinks I am a social worker. At home I can not answer the door, but at the church, I can't hide.

I love my next-door-neighbors. They will keep an eye out and let me know if anyone is lurking in my driveway.

I need to find my "Scrooge" dvd and watch that tonight. I always enjoy watching that on Christmas Eve.

The ballet was wonderful, the score was gorgeous, and Marley's Ghost made Thatch sit up in fright.  Annabelle sang along to all the carols.

I had planned a 4 pm dinner but instead it was at 630  so we weren't done with dessert and cleaning up until 9:15 which meant I missed the 8:30 church service

The Do is Done and it was quite a good Do as Do's go.  There were actually quite a few people in attendance - dear reader Leslie and daughter Alexa, Kay Cole and her ever-lovin' Michael, Adryan Russ and her ever-lovin' Dale, dear readers Amy and Mark and Meg (singingnymph), Shelly Markham, Elizabeth and Richard Sherman, Jimmy Mulligan, Sami and her mom, Doug, Dorathy, and daughter Hartley, with her hubby Bill, Robert Yacko, Alby Potts, Joanna Erdos, Richard Allen, Henry Stanny and wife Nancy Hoven, Marshall Harvey, and no Geissmans due to illness - I may be forgetting someone.  I think we had a few more last year, but you would never have known that by the amount of spaghetti and tuna pasta salad consumed.  They went through four pounds of pasta and a good deal of the sauce, which was proclaimed to be the best it's ever been.

The exit happened a bit after ten and then I cleaned everything up save for the spaghetti and pasta pots.  I think everyone had a good time and it was so nice to see Sami again after four months away.
