DR JohnG, I love Thomas Hardy, but Tess of the D'Urbevilles is an ordeal.  If I want to read about a really stupid woman, I'll reread the wonderful Madame Bovary.

I love or loathe Hardy, depending on the book. Loved The Mayor of Casterbridge and Far from the Madding Crowd. Loathed Tess, Return of the Native, Jude the Obscure and The Well-Beloved.

I've futzed and finessed and written one new page - slow going today, but I'll catch up as the day goes by.

Are any DRs serious collectors of memorabilia? BK has mentioned ABE as a site for such things. Does anyone here use that or other sites?

I spent the early part of the day at acupuncture, then stopped for some tacos, before taking care of errands.

Tunes from A CAROL CHRISTMAS keep running through my head. Yesterday it was Spelling Backwards, today it's Little Miracles. At other times it's other songs.

As I was saying, the plot lines in JACK IRISH can be rather confusing. I've watched two episodes so far and I think I'll watch more.

Has anyone seen this?

Do you feel that the prices there are pretty accurate of an item's worth?

Something is only worth what someone's willing to pay for it.  I only buy things for what I'm willing to pay, so...yes and no.  It's accurate (to me) for the amounts that I've chosen to pay, and not for amounts that I'm not willing to pay. ;)

Some of you may be getting snow. We had rain all evening, and people really don't know how to drive in it here. I passed too many accidents tonight. And feel grateful not to have been in one.
