DR vixmom, you have the strangest experiences!  You should have left vixdad in the lurch to keep us au courant on the entitled lady.

Annabelle seems to be getting over her cold faster than I am.  This morning she knocked every bottle off the edge of the bathtub, and she's climbing everywhere.

DR Elmore, I loved the show. I had only seen it done in a very tiny community theater.

I am really not liking the new musicals very much. I realize, though, that it is the future of Broadway. But I like the kind of musicals with singing, not rapping or shouting.

You all left out Marvin Gaye as one of Marlon Brando's boyfriends....Pryor and Gaye were both mentioned by Mr Quincy Jones when he was shilling his book last year.....

This was the sketch from the "Streetcar" V-A-M-P section on the Sonny and Cher Show in the early 1970s - is the streetcar driver kissing Stanley goodnight an allusion of some sort to Brando in real life?

Burt Reynolds as Stanley, Cher as Blanche, and  Sonny as a streetcar driver who keeps trying to keep Cher and Burt apart.

There was some high-minded stuff being spoofed at times on the "Sonny and Cher Show" - Somerset Maugham's character Miss Sadie Thompson was pretty much a regular vamp - maybe Cher really enjoyed playing her, or maybe they loved "Rain" that much?

This was next in that Cher playlist on YouTube.
Sonny and Cher were divorced and still good friends, interviewed here by George Segal,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_n9hnWcOYVA
and it looks like Goldie Hawn joins them (at 3:45), stepping through the curtain at just the right moment when the conversation was feeling like it got on an  uncomfortable topic.

Were George Segal and Goldie Hawn a couple then, or just movie co-stars?

It's hard to believe that Cher wasn't 30 yet in that interview.

2.3 million gallons of molasses.  21 dead.  I had never heard of it before.

Why is the door to the message board closed?  I am very busy and don't have to time to post or read with everyone else....I will be looking at frames - come and get me when the board can be read without interruption by ME MYSELF AND I.....

What does this mean?  Is it about something else?

I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep.  I got up at eleven, as planned, but it was sixty-four degrees in the house, so I turned on the heat and got back in bed for ten minutes until it warmed up - next thing I knew it was noon.

After that, I read up on the Great Halifax Explosion that killed 11,000 people in 1917.

Again, I had never heard of this disaster.  A ship (the Mont-Blanc) carrying three thousand tons of TNT and other explosives exploded as it approached the harbor at Halifax.  The ship was vaporized in one fifteenth of a second, and the city was leveled.
