I printed out 100 pages (more than last week), Xeroxed them, and delivered them to Muse Margaret, who will call at some point.  Then I came home, started writing liner notes, and got a call from Sami and her mom to come meet them for lunch, which I did.  That was fun, then I picked up one package that contained a potential new Kritzerland project that we'll probably do, then came home again.  I went back to the liner notes and I was literally almost dozing off as I was writing them.  But I got the bulk of it done, and will shortly go back to the book and I'll try to write at least five pages before relaxing.

Depressing lot of stories today. The novel i just finished and the movie both had suicides in them.

Maybe take a break and listen to Dear Evan Hansen?

Oh wait, did you say you'd prefer something without a suicide?  This is tough.

I hope we are suffering from allergies and will feel back to our normal crappy selves during this trip. Since yesterday I have coughed my throat raw, not stopped dripping and alternate between stuffed or blowing.  I am am concerned about flying with my already stuffed ears  ::)

Feel-better vibes to Jane!

Can you take cough drops on a plane these days? Maybe only once you're been through security.

Thanks Jeanne. We have Ricola and it isn’t a problem with security

I watched the first 90 minutes of Love in a Cold Climate, which had a few good laughs in them. It's an old Masterpiece Theater series with a fairly young Judi Dench in the lead, but she's not really the star. It's more about some girls coming of age during the flapper period.

Now I'm watching a fairly uplifting documentary about Itzhak Perlman. In addition to the brilliant music, there are some wonderful stories about him, about his music, his teachers, his struggle to succeed despite his polio when no one really wanted to hire a disabled violinist.

One rather harrowing story was of his going to a music store in Israel and he's shown a violin that had been owned by a Jew but a Nazi had scratched a swastika inside of it. The scene ends with the salesman and Perlman agreeing the instrument should not be strung for the next 1,000 years.

I've been fortunate enough to have seen Perlman live on several occasions. One performance in Atlanta featured him conducting favorite pieces. In Saratoga, i saw him perform with the Philadelphia Orchestra. In San Antonio, he performed solo. Each different, each wonderful.

The movie also raises that most existential of questions: How can a pickle not be kosher?

I haven't done enough pages today, but as I was writing away I literally could not keep my eyes open, so I went and sat on the couch for a minute, intending to just see what was on Netflix but before I could even turn on the TV I was out - for an hour.

The show is damn near perfect, but wow, Evan Hansen polo shirts

http://www.playbill.com/article/official-dear-evan-hansen-polo-shirt-now-available-at-the-playbill-store

made me sure I was seeing something in a very macabre version of the Onion. Dress for death?  Because everyone wants to BE Evan Hansen.  I wondered, and wonder still, whether the marketers even saw the show.

The Muse Margaret call came around five - she loved the 100 new pages - one typo note and that was it.  The stuff I was slightly worried about is the stuff she loved most.  So, I mushed on, but I was so tired.  But in the end I did nine pages, and that's with doing a set of liner notes, too - but I'll write the notes now and maybe do another page or two before bed.  I have a nine-thirty meeting that I wish I didn't have because I'll have to be up by eight-thirty and out the door before nine, as I don't know how long it will take to get there.

It would depend on the equipment used in the processing.
