Well, you've read the notes, the notes approached the finish line, and now it is time for you to post until the Finnish cows come home.

The music at the bar is nice right now that the singer is not singing.

My complaint is not with her voice but that the microphone makes her too loud.

It is bedtime for us.  Fingers crossed I don't give Keith a fright again.  He was very concerned last night I would rupture something from coughing so hard.

Well it's interesting that the heat pump man says the same thing is wrong with my system as was wrong in November - which he "fixed" at that time.....  I told him I didn't think that sounded right.....

He is coming back on Monday to work on it.....so here are Birdy Barnum and I in single degree temps with no heat....from the furnace...

Fortunately I can use the gas furnace which will raise the temp to about 68 degrees in the north end of the house....and I use small space heaters in the south end where our bedrooms and computer room are....

But I don't like to keep ANY of them on all the time, so I am up and down all night turning them on and off....

NOT MY TYPE OF WEEKEND

I'm feeling quite lazy this morning, but I was just given a list of things to do by Annabelle.  So, when I finish my cuppa coffee, I'll wash their dishes, clean the litter, and patrol.  I'm ignoring the last one, "Take me to Petco."

The good news:  We got dumped on way less than originally forecast. I think the storm lessened a little bit for everyone. So this is a good thing. It looks like we maxxed out at around two inches. And the ;lowing neighbor just did his plowing thing, so at least we're not landlocked.

The bad news:  It's an unholy wintry mix, and whatever is left on the sidewalks and driveways this afternoon when it refreezes and goes all the way down to zero tonight is going to be there until Wednesday. So, after eating and getting myself gussied bundled up, I'll be going out to see what (if anything) the snowblower will pick up, and doing whatever has to be done in pushing the loose stuff off the driveway with a shovel.

The most aggravating part of this is the temperature "forecast", which I put in quotation marks because you can't even call it a forecast when what they were calling for today as of midnight last night is already 10-15 degrees LOWER now. In other words, their forecasts for a high of 43-47 degrees today (depending on which site you look at) has gradually deteriorated to forecasts for a high of 32-36 degrees. How all of these sources can be so wrong is totally beyond me.

But I can smell bacon cooking (not frying, it's in the oven), and that is a wonderful thing.

So, back to the anthology watching. The first night it was THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD, which was great, then I skipped Friday to honor Nick Redman. There's more Nick Redman to come, but yesterday afternoon I got an early start on the anthology-a-thon by watching the first of two films, TALES FROM THE CRYPT. I had deliberately planned on watching both that and THE VAULT OF HORROR together, because these two had never gotten the attention they deserved from me in the DVD era due to a below-par release on the MGM Midnite Movies series. They were in the old "full screen" (4x3) format, and one of the stories contained what has to be one of the worst hack jobs in ratings-censorship ever, resulting in an incomprehensible couple of minutes at the story's climax. I'd acquired the Shout! Blu-ray release last year, but hadn't watched it yet. Fortunately, with the exception of some occasionally distracting audio overload/distortion, it's beautiful. I took an hour break between the two films, and it made for a perfect double feature. (These were two separate films released at different times; they're only a double feature in how they've been released on both the previous DVD and this Blu-ray.)

Great notes yesterday on Nick, BK. I’m glad you’ll be singing at the service. And what a wonderful choice of songs. It was one of the waltzes I danced to yesterday.

It's dark and gray outside, but I see no signs of snow.

So, although I set up coffee hour, set and reset the altar, served as assisting minister and doubled as acolyte I was out of church by 10:20
