One of the songs America performed was called Hollywood and they had interesting images from the past 70 years or so, plenty of places that BK, Jane, ChasSmith and more would have recognized from the past. Great stuff.

I’m ushering tonight for a golden oldie: America.

Horse With No Name, The TinMan and, my favorite, Sister GoldenHair.

I love these songs... reminds me of my first year of college

vixmom, are the kids registered yet, and if so, where?

They have decided not to register as since they set up housekeeping nearly three years ago they have everything they need

Well, Facebook has blocked me again for 30 days for calling Sarah Huckabee Sanders "lying white trash."  They claim it violates their community standards on hate speech:
To help keep Facebook safe, we sometimes block certain content and actions. If you think we’ve made a mistake, please let us know. While we aren’t able to review individual reports, the feedback you provide will help us improve the ways we keep Facebook safe.

So, I tried to let them know, and wrote: How does "white trash" violate your cockamamie community standards?  I grew up in a white trash family.  Instead of simply saying "you're blocked for 30 days," why don't you lay out the words you've decided violate your delicate sensibilities?

Here's the kicker: because I'm blocked, I cannot send my reply.

That's terrible, Larry! >:(
.

I wonder if they consider white trash to be a racist term and are blocking on thatbasis

Finally reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. It’s sweet. Certainly a flipside to my other audiobook, The Plague by Camus.

I enjoyed both the book and the movie

So at work, several of us just got a second monitor.  Why?  I don't know, but we have them.  We could've refused them (a few people did), but I figure, why not.  I'll try it out for a while and see how it goes.  Anyway, here is my new setup:
I had 2 screens at the last job and I loved it.  I only have one now and I miss the second screen

Did he mention that when he booked the tour?

If you want the world's worst food for a diabetic, then tell people you travel with are diabetic. It will likely send a person into a carb coma.

The America Diabetes Association board apparently has reps from seven or eight insulin producers on it. And they seem hellbent on protecting their own interests.

Oh my.  I don't know how to cook for a diabetic.  When I have asked I have been told not to worry about it.

Are they taking a honeymoon?   I know people who have registered for various activites, hotels, etc.

People need to get more creative with synonyms.  How about "ivory rubbish"?  After all it's a computer searching for set phrases.

A couple of my dimmest in-laws didn't want to use bad words around their daughter, so they used big word.  Till the teacher said she had called a boy in class a "rectal orifice".

Don't say anything bitch, say vixen.  Don't say bastard, say OOW.

I made about three ounces of spaghetti with red sauce tonight for my snack.  I'd only had an omelet and bagel for food.

I was expecting a package of books today (my books, older stuff) but they didn't arrive until six thanks to the ineptitude of UPS.

Otherwise, I've done a lot of proofing (still not quite finished, but not too much more to go) - got one proofer's copy back, so once I finish then I can enter all those fixes.  She really loved the book - thought it the best of the Adrianas, which made me happy, and she got right away what the slight difference was with this book.

And I tried, heaven knows I tried, to watch Black Panther and I finally gave up after forty-five minutes of its relentless blather.  How this thing is up for best picture is anyone's guess - oh, wait - it's actually easy to understand in today's Hollywood climate.  I'm glad there are people who like these things, but I'm not one of them.  This one and the female one from a couple of years ago, well, I think in years to come people will look back at these and think, what on earth was I thinking.

Recalls to me that Phoenix Times interview with Barbara Harris, "Barbara Harris Knew Bill Clinton Was White Trash"

Then I watched a new Netflix movie - Velvet Buzzsaw, a totally weird and wacky art world "thriller."  Not much of a thriller, more of a horror movie, which anyone can see coming in the first thirty minutes.  It doesn't add up to much and it thinks it's funnier than it is, but the performances are fun and it moves right along.

I guess that says something about a person's interests the most famous use of the words "white trash" is in that Barbara Harris article.
:)

The article is cited a bit for her saying the problem with theater for her was that she loved developing a show and rehearsing, and didn't like playing show over and over once it was frozen.

I had a medical scare that'd prompted me to make an appointment for Monday, and now the symptoms have left.

I love the online info which basically said it could just need a pill, or alternatively, you could die tomorrow.

Trying to decide whether to keep the appointment, since it's the first use of the 2019 deductible.
