Well, you've read the notes, the notes forgot what they were supposed to be about, and now it is time for you to post until the forgetful cows come home.

The only professional production of Hello, Dolly! that I've seen was almost exactly 10 years ago (doing a search here on HHW, I actually saw it on March 10, 2009) when I saw Jenifer Lewis as Dolly at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle.  She was a hoot and it was a great production.

I've seen several local productions and, of course, some were better than others. ::)

Well, it's bed time, but I don't have to get up to go to work, so I won't. :D

Have a good day, all!

I saw Ginger Rogers in Dolly in Madison in the 60s.  A couple of days later a friend who was in the Air Force said quite casually, "My friend Si was in town, and we went out to dinner with Ginger.  They're old friends."  Grrr!

No tries on my Cross Works riddles? Sigh!  Perhaps the rules of the game aren't clear.  I'll give you one.

Who starred in My Fair Ark?
Rex [Harrison] Ford

Capisc'?  The other two should be clear now, and btb (by the bye in Internet slang) they form a longer chain, which is a whole nother kettle of mahi-mahi.

Who wrote The Golden Wake?

Who wrote Finnigan's Trees?

The only professional productions of Hello, Dolly! I have seen starred Carol Channing.

That sounds like fun. She’s a wonderful performer.

Annabelle and I did not patrol this morning, but she doesn't seem angry about it.  Maybe we'll step out when I return this afternoon.

I'm about ready to leave.  I've fed the cats, washed their dishes, cleaned the litter, refilled their kibble and water, and I'm ready for a nap.

The only professional "Dolly's" I've seen are Ginger, Channing (first tour), and Bernadette.

Tonight I play the college rehearsal, which should be most interesting.

Weather forecasts for tomorrow are all over the place, as far as what mix and how much precip there will be. None of it sounds particularly conducive for us getting into the city to see Merrily. Or for getting home without difficulty. Trains are out of the question due to everyone's schedule. At least I'm not the one doing the driving, although I do have to get to the other person's house and back. Oy!

I saw it with Ginger Rogers and David Burns.

I have seen Channing in other stage productions (e.g. LORELI and a co-appearance with George Burns)

Since there is still snow on the ground, I postponed Monday's shopping until Tuesday.....

Rain predicted for tomorrow, but that's all right.

I didn't watch the Awards themselves....too many folks I don't know and who don't particularly want me for their audience....but two CD's in the list I read sound interesting:

SuperHeroes - Randy Waldman
Doctor Atomic  - a new recording by Robert Adams of his opera

TOD:

Mr. Don Loper!  He was a close friend of all of the wives of the stars!

Christian Dior
Lucy Gallant
Edith Head
Travilla

I know those are costume designers, but they made some great stuff!
