I am home from City Center.  My third of the 6 months property taxes has landed.  I am not amused.

Does anyone remember GAY PURR-EE, with Judy Garland's voice?

I just made oatmeal cookie dough to bake later.  Now I need to make a big salad for tonight.

My biggest fear of the past two years has finally arrived:  Thatch has discovered the joy of the toilet paper roll. What a mess.

Yup.  Just turn the roll around so that it goes down the back and out from under the bottom, and then Thatch can paw at it all he wants.  I learned this the hard way...when I was at a friend's house and he had his toilet paper this way, and I thought that I'd be funny and turn it around so that it went down the front (like I have at my house), but then his cat started unrolling it while I was still there! :o SPOO!!

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  I had my semi-annual dental check-up today, my first appointment with a new hygienist.  We'd gone to Sharon for 30+ years and she retired in December.  Come to find out, Kathryn (the new one) is a papercrafter, so we had a lot to talk about.  No surprises, dentally, and I was outta there in time to get to the campus library to discuss John Grisham's The Reckoning.

I discovered while eating lunch that a deadline I thought was next week is actually tomorrow.  So I quickly put together the paperwork and took it to the Middletown post office (what a zoo) for overnight mailing.  We made a public library stop and are in for the night.  It's supposed to snow tonight, but be up in the 40s by the time we get up in the morning.

DR CHAS SMITH as Miss Annette Funicello wrote in her autobiography, she was often chided at night clubs when folks saw her smoking (her brand was Larks)..

"Why, Annette, I didn't think you were a smoker!"
"I also have three children, guess what else I do!"

I thought Jayne Mansfield was great....but I like my sex kittens with a bit more innocence than Miss Mansfield....who could be hilarious!

There wasn't much innocence even then.

For a school show, the music director was asked "Baby I'm the bottom, you're the top is suggestive, isn't it?" when people were wondering how to play the line.  The music director. who was a few years younger than the youngest cast member, said "It doesn't suggest anything, it just says it."

The single entendre.

I went to Staples about twenty minutes after I got up and they thankfully weren't busy and made me the book copy while I waited.

I then came home and began proofing - I did about twenty-six pages' worth of actually reading the book, but after that I just went page to page looking specifically for bad breaks, em dashes, and that kind of thing.  That took about three hours and I found about thirty things, noted them in red and then began looking through again.  I caught a couple of formatting things that Grant hadn't fixed, but mostly it was em dash, bad breaks, and spacing issues.  The least amount of fixes we've ever had.

He came over at four and we entered all the fixes, and he fixed the formatting issues.  So, tomorrow he starts on the cover, spine, and back cover.  The cover is already designed by Doug Haverty so it's just technical stuff.

I had the carbonara, which was great, a salad, and a couple of pieces of garlic bread.  Thankfully, I hadn't eaten all day.

Then we came here and now I'm in the home environment all cozy and warm, listening to music.
