Oh, my gosh! Tower of Terror! Thank you for mentioning it. We rode it four times when we were at Disney-MGM three years ago. What a marvel!

The Vixter and I went on this , I loved it, she didn't...but not because of the drop...she was freaked out by the ghosts, specifically the little girl ghost... she said, "What kind of place  makes you think of dead children? That doesn't seem very Disney like to me!!"  She was all for writing a letter to Michael Eisner to chastise him , but of course forgot about it by time we got home!

It was the Wednesday matinee before DH & my wedding.  His sister and her husband were in from Grande Praire, Canada. It was their first trip to NY and they wanted to see a real Broadway musical.  As to seats, I couldn't tell you the exact row and number, but DH had gone to the theatre and managed to score front seat center mezzine seats....

It took several years, but the Dear Partner and I figured out that we were at the same performance of CHU CHEM (don't ask!) together, before we started dating.

Since we were intro-fo-duced (oooh, a MOST HAPPY FELLA reference!) by a mutual friend, and said friend was associate company manager of the show, and we both remember a horrific windstorm that practically tore down the marquee of the Ritz (now Walter Kerr) Theatre, we just had one last place to confirm it:  our ticket stubs!  And indeed it was true.....

Well, releasing SONG OF THE SOUTH makes sense. Disney, with the release of CINDERELLA at the end of this year, will have exhausted its supply of classics, at least for a first go-round. With the hype and the fact that the movie has been unseen by the general public for decades, they should make a mint on its release.

Actually, now that you bring up SONG OF THE SOUTH, Splash Mountain is probably one of the best rides I've ever been on. It lasts a long time, has a great buildup with the music from SOTS, has a couple good hills before you get to the top of the really steep hill for the big splash. It is satisfactual.

Hello? When is Disney releasing THE BOATNIKS on DVD? And why does Leonard Maltin refuse to acknoledge the existence of this film?

My mom turned down a puppy? She's going to be whining about that when I get home.

So what's going to happen to the puppy, mom? Maybe she can be Sugar's little sister.

Well, guess what?  I had one tiny package - a CD from Germany.  No DVDs.  Although, everything wasn't put out yet, so there's a chance something might show up later.

Well, guess what?  It is now pouring (and I mean pouring) once again.  It's supposed to be completely over by tomorrow night, and I'm hoping that that is true because I have HAD IT with this fershluganah rain.

It will be fun to see SONG OF THE SOUTH after so many years. I saw it in rerelease back in the early 70s, I guess it was. I seem to remember liking it.

The only Disney movie I am awaiting (since Bambi will be out in a few weeks) is A TIGER WALKS. I really like that movie, and it has Brian Keith in it.

I do not do roller coasters or ferris wheels, teacups make me nauseous...I'm very prone to motion sickness.  My speed is Pirates of the Carribean.  I aways like the dodge'em cars.  The Universal tram ride is fun.

BK my friend Roger called me from Kentucky yesterday.  He said he had read the first of the Kritzer books and quite enjoyed it.

Not much of an amusement park ride rider myself, but I have fond memories of a beautiful carousel at Great Falls of the Potomac, where we visited when I was about 6.

In 1996, when our son was 10, we took a 3 and a half week driving trip west, spending a long weekend in the LA area.  Spent a magical Friday at Disneyland, riding Star Tours twice and singing at the top of our lungs from the front car of It's a Small World (Rob was so embarrassed - what are parents for?).  The following Monday, we went to Universal Studios and rode the then-new Jurassic Park flume (front row again - we got drenched) and ET's bicycles.  My favorite there, though, was that L-O-N-G escalator down to the movie lots - I got chills thinking about all the movie history.

Re:  Song of the South.  I'm pretty sure I posted here many moons ago that Leonard Maltin had told me it was definitely coming out (maybe it was another forum I post to--I am such a posting sl*t, you know :) ).  (Mr. Maltin had been in touch with me about my Frances Farmer article and we somehow got onto the subject of PC-ness and I asked him about SOTS).

Re:  Chu Chem.  I actually have several charts from the original Broadway run.  The frightening thing is, I can't for the life of me remember how I got them.

Jose, the auditioners have 3 minutes to do any combo of songs and/or monologues.

Glad Roger liked Benjamin Kritzer.

Still miserable and rainy outside.  No more packages, so at least I can stay in.  I've finished writing for the day, I think - did a good number of pages, so I feel fine.

DR Jane... Sorry when I was typing the other night my fingers went a walking without first connecting to the brain... the message about sorry to hear you were under the weather and the query as to whether you needed a bagel refill were meant for you, although I typed Ann instead of Jane....

although Dear Ann, be sure I am continuing to wish you better health, a wonderful job opportunity  and will be happy to supply to you with bagels should you so desire!!

Thank you.  The vibes are working and I still have plenty of bagels left .  I don't eat much at a time.  Just now I had a quarter of a rye bagel.
