IMy favorite Durbin musical (and I guess most of her films would be considered obscure) is HIS BUTLER'S SISTER.

I think I missed that one. >:(

At that time, believe it or not, "middle America" WAS "one bathroom."

I've always reckoned (I reckon) they didn't want to come off as being above middle class in their representation of these families.  But still....six kids, a housekeeper AND Mike and Carol and ONLY ONE BATHROOM?

It was?  That was too nice of  house for only one bathroom.  Didn't the parents have their own bathroom?

Vixmom - that sounds like a delightful bear.

It's so pretty outside.

Those make your own bears are really cute.  :)

I just  'lifted" some pictures from the  AG site.  When I get our pictures put on disc I'll put some up if they're any good.  It was a lot of fun... I love having a girl!!!

DR Kerry - Thanks for your concern/thoughts/words.

We'll see what happens.  I spent a good chunk of this afternoon going through three boxes of "stuff".  One box was almost exclusively filled with xeroxes of scores I already have in "hard form".  -And for some unknown reason, I had THREE, single-sided copies of the piano/vocal score for R&H's CINDERELLA. ?!?!?!?!?

But I did come across some sentimental stuff, and stuff I was very glad to see again after so many years.

In any case... The recycling bin will be quite full next week.

Dear Jose, if you are considering recycling the R & H Cinderella . may I be so bold as to suggest you recycle it in my direction?  The Vixter takes singing lessons and she & her teacher are always looking for new things for her to sing.  I know there are several fun  songs  in there that the Vixter would like.

I'd be happy to pay postage  :D

The drive home tonight was nearly uneventful, however just before I got to my Mom's, to pick up the Vixter, I hit a slick patch as I was going around a corner and started spinning in a beautiful slow motion 360  unfortunately there was a big garbage truck with a snowplow attached right in my path and I thought I was going to meet my Maker...fortunately the truck saw me and stopped  and swerved and I gracefully slid past  uninjured --- WHEW!!! And the snow continues!!

Yikes!  I just got off the phone with my mom, who was telling me about my sister in Michigan having almost the identical experience a few days ago.  She's OK, but did $5000 damage to her car.

I know, I know... I'll let you know when she gets one <sigh> ::).

Oh dear, that's terrible!  I was very lucky and impact free though very frightened I must admit.

So, will you fly into Cincinnati or Dayton?  Either is convenient for me to pick you up!

I'm back from my lovely dinner with Vinnie.  I was "pretty" good - had a Chinese Chicken Salad and their coconut shrimp appetizer, and two big pieces of bread, but that's it for the entire day.  More about the dinner in the notes.

Here is Teddy and me after the new highlighting.  You can't really see my hair.  Oh, Teddy is on the left, for anyone that's confoosed..

Here I am with new highlights courtesy of my self-timer Canon Sure Shot.  The sun was coming in the window strongly, hence the icky contrast.

Charles,
Thanks for your thumbs up on "Follow That Dream."  I like the songs too and sprung for the EP 45 about 10 years ago.  The songs have since accompanied on many a car trip.

Bruce, Pogue and all Angelenos (or anyone across the great USA), who was Mark Taper for whom the Forum is named?  I know who the Ahmansons are, but when I have tried to find Mark Taper on google, I just keep getting sites mentioning tickets for events at the Forum (even when I exclude the word"Forum").  After wading through a couple hundred links, I thought I'd aks if anyone knew.
I don't need to know for any other reason than I wondered about it.  Like Jed, this is the crap MY brain is filled with (what an eclectic, useless bunch of stuff is in my head).

IT'S A GREAT FEELING has some great, fun songs with a plot that was really awful. All of Doris' Warner musicals had some terrific tunes: I love "We're Gonna Ring the Bell Tonight" in APRIL IN PARIS. Wouldn't part with my laserdiscs for anything (unless they come out on DVD one of these days.)
