Well, you've read the notes, the notes gave March their marching papers, and now it is time for you to post until the marching cows come home.

JOHN, ALNM is also one of my favorite musicals, but this was not a great production.

Most of the cast was really good; and, of course, the show is a masterpiece.

Therefore, I guess the blame has to be the adult fault (thank you spellcheck) of the director.

My friend Casi, who played Desiree, was fabulous; and Jonathan Bill, who played Fredrik, was also very good.

The real showstopper was the young man who played Henrik.  His name is Will Johnson, and he is a real talent.  I saw him last year as the dentist in LITTLE SHOP, and he literally stole that show.

This time, he almost walked off with the show in a role that is usually rather forgettable.  Not this time.  His comic timing is spot-on, his delivery first rate, and his singing voice was very strong.

After the show, he was the first cast member I tracked down.  I told him how wonderful his performance was, and that I had also enjoyed him in LITTLE SHOP.  And he stopped me right there and said, “And I saw you in IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE and I thought you were wonderful.”

Talented AND he has fantastic taste!   :D

George had a cast party.

I'm home and in bed...finally!  The cast party was fun and chatty, and my belly is filled with food. :)

But there were a lot of missteps in the production.  The woman who played Charlotte, a role i usually love, was totally misdirected in the part.  Instead of a stinging wit, she played the character as a wacko.

And I must confess,  this was the first time seeing this show that I absolutely detested the Quintet.

And the audience gave the show the required standing O, but I think the production, over all, deserved it.

The cast party was a potluck, so I brought some caramel popcorn and cheese-flavored popcorn (actually mixed and packaged together), and some Taco Bell tacos, but I also had some chips and dip, various cheeses, and several things that I just can't remember.

But also yesterday before the party, the family got together for our weekly family dinner and we had pizza, and apple pie (I didn't have that), and some raspberry crumble (topped pie).  That was all real good, too.
