I thought they were going to do the five Oscar song nominees in a medley like the last few years. So, having that first song sung by itself is a surprise to me.

And if they want to save time, they might have started with Chris Rock's thirteen minute monolog.

And we didn't need the opening history lesson about movies.  Thank you, but we all know what movies are.

And we don't need this "comedy" bit with Chris Rock.

Well... As for Beyonce...

I'm not too sure exactly what I heard, but her French diction was very "broad" for lack of a better word.

But I thought she mentioned the male sexual organ and the word "hope" in the same phrase.

???

*Things you learn from a really cool college French teacher.  ;)

I wonder if all the AVIATOR nominees/winners have been instructed to make short speeches in order to give more time to Mssrs. DiCaprio and Scorcese.

I didn't really have an opinion on the Supporting Actress award other than that I thought Blanchett was very ordinary.  I liked Madsen very much.

I hope this doesn't portend that The Aviator will win other major awards.

No need for this Johnny triubute. I loved Johnny, but why take up this time for this tribute to a TV star, even if he did host the Oscars four times.
