Make the cookie dough ahead, roll it into balls, and then freeze.  Baking won't take long at all and you can bake as few as you want.

Trader Joe's in Alexandria used to sell an apple strudel loaf that was frozen. Not only was it tasty, but I could slice off just one or two pieces at a time and bake them. I've never seen it here.

Last night DR John G posted about Brokenwood Mysteries and their use of Willie Nelson's song, Crazy. I've never been a country music fan, but I've always loved Patsy Cline and especially Crazy. It really suits Brokenwood Mysteries, too.

Speaking of Aussie productions (New Zealand is close, after all), those of you who like Essie Davis might enjoy CLOUDSTREET. It's VERY dark, but she is wonderful in it.

Have you asked if your local store can get it?

Is it a 3 part mini-series?

6-part. Acorn TV has it. But it is very dark. I watched it all and am glad I did, but it's not an upper.

It's been a couple of years, but I had ordered some raw cookie dough from a company that makes sure that the dough is safe for being eaten raw.  The flavors that I got were very good.  They actually can also be baked, but why? ;) Anyway, they also have some gluten-free options, and dairy-free options, and vegan options, and even a Paleo option.  The company is Edoughble and their website is https://www.edoughble.com/.  I can recommend them!

Last year, I came across another raw cookie dough site, but their shipping costs were much higher than Edoughble's...over $30, where Edoughble's can be under $5.00. :D

IMDB is showing 3 episodes, at 1hr 50 min each.  I am guessing each episode you watched was half of that.

The fact that CLOUDSTREET is very dark might be the reason I have not read the novel yet.

Be back later!

Had a quite good second Kritzerland rehearsal.  And then a wonderful supper with Peyton and mom.  We've got a very big project for Peyton next February - a straight play that I'll be directing for the Group Rep, written by Doug.  A huge role and not an easy one.

I read that there will be another season of Brokenwood, too.

Did you watch the extra on the Brokenwood set? It was a four-minute clip with interviews from the actors. The redhead said that since each season was really the equivalent of four movies, they've made 20 movies altogether. The lead actress (I can't remember names) said it felt like it. But they all seemed to enjoy their parts and not many were good at guessing who the murderer would be.

I never had a store-bought cookie that I remember until I was 5 or 6 and already in school. They looked so good to me, and yet they tasted so horribly bad.

Mom's cookbook is more about cookies than anything, and there are some beauties in there: Chocolate Surprise Cookies, Springerle, cinnamon stars, Russian tea cakes (aka Mexican wedding cookies), lemon bars, limoncello bars, Spritz (and I don't like Mom's; hers are rather like Play-doh). I'm glad on a certain level that I wasn't in the country for Christmas, because this was the first year Mom didn't send a package of cookies. I think her baking days have come to an end.

I really like to take two oversized cookies, preferably chocolate-chocolate chip, and turn them into ice cream sandwiches. Roll the edges in some chopped nuts, Reese's pieces, coconut or cherries and then refreeze for about 15 minutes.

Yummy.
