I think she was the very first to record it, and I've never heard it. My first recording of the Gloria was Bernstein's with Judith Blegen. It was paired with Lenny's recording of his wonderful Chichester Psalms. I've also got the EMI recording with Barbara Hendricks conducted by Georges Pretre, which is nearly 5 minutes longer than Bernstein's!

I also like his ballet Les Biches a lot.

I have this recording of all of Poulenc's songs. The late William Parker was one of my first New York friends and brother of John Parker, who was a friend of DR Ginny's and mine.

In school I played the piano in Poulenc's Le bal masqué. I don't remember if I ever owned the music or if it was a school or rental copy, but I'm sorry to see I don't have it now. A delightful piece.

All that is in this set, which is basically all EMI recordings, now owned by Warners Classical and Erato.
