Fav religious films: I'm fond of the Jeffrey Hunter Christ film (King of Kings?) with our old friend Frank (Danssssalome!) Thring because it tries to put a somewhat logical secular/historical spin on that whole section of the new testament.

Could Whistle Down the Wind be considered a religious film. I like that one.

One Foot In Heaven...starring Fredric March as a minister is awfully nice.

I, too, like King of Kings, one of the best - great score by Rozsa and a lovely performance by Mr. Hunter. Ditto Whistle Down the Wind.

I also enjoy Ben-Hur every five years. The Ten Commandments always makes me laugh uncontrollably. And I'm fond of certain sequences in The Greatest Story Ever Told. I also enjoy The Song of Bernadette.

Well, I've never been a religious person (not even spiritual), so religious films never appealed to me. I did like the animated musicals "Prince of Egypt," with songs by Stephen Schwartz and (direct to video) "Joseph: King of Dreams" that has some very nice songs by John Bucchino. I love the song "Better Than I." Anyway, that's about as religious as I get.

You certainly don't have to be a religious person to enjoy a well-made film like King of Kings or The Song of Bernadette.

My favorite film featuring nuns (who are religious, after all) is the divoon and brilliant Black Narcissus.

I have always enjoyed the movie The Trouble with Angels. I guess you could also include The Sound of Music since it has nuns.

I didn't think of that! I love "The Sound of Music." And now that it's been mentioned, I remember that I have seen (and thoroughly enjoyed) "The Trouble with Angels." So, I'll put those on my list.

You'd think that I would've seen more religious films...my aunt (my dad's sister) is a nun! Sister Cecelia.

THE TROUBLE WITH ANGELS and its sequel WHERE ANGELS GO TROUBLE FOLLOWS - buts especially the first with Miss Hayley Mills.

I really like THE CARDINAL and also THE MIRACLE with Miss Carroll Baker as a nun who decides to go in a WAY different direction.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS and EL CID are also a couple of the "epics" I like!

DR KERRY also sent me a lovely care package of magazines and publications. I was finally able to see a photograph of the gold sequin pants suit that Carroll Baker wore to the 1965 Golden Globe ceremonies and scandalized the jaybirds!

DR KERRY - MBARNUM (who will indeed inherit my Allison Hayes collection) mentioned some Bollywood movies, and I would like to add my favorite, a soap opera tear jerker called PAKEEZAH. Do a quick search on Google and read about it....it has my favorite Bollywood song and dance Chalte, Chalte!

I didn't get to answer yesterday's question from DRRODZINKSKI about my weirdest posession, but I guess it would have to be the Little Brown Jug of White LIghtnin' empty jug that Frances Farmer purchased in Nashville, Indiana, then took to her sister Edith's house for Christmas in 1962. They finished up the likker, then Edith used it as a candle holder. She gave it to me many years ago, when I wrote to her about Frances.

Good morning, al! I, too, overlooked DRRodzinski's inquiry, and I'm not sure I can think of anything remotely bizarre I've collected. My prize possession is an original George Gershwin drawing, which was a gift from Leonore Gershwin in 1989 or so. I have a great collection of scores to musicals, opera, operetta, and ballet, but doesn't everyone? All right, I am collecting BABES IN TOYLAND memorabilia, 1903-present, mostly pertaining to the original production, 1st and 2nd class tours, and German production, but it's got a purpose beyond my neuroses (I hope!).

DRs Woody and Der Brucer, I love William Benedick Shakespaw! He's adorable.
