Does Memphis work?  Could one get to Texas in an hour or so?  I don't want to use Louisiana.  I like the sound of Memphis.  I'll go find out the name of the town in Texas.

There's no easy answer without more information.

You want to find a city that is about an hour away from Texas?

Texas is HUGE.  Where in Texas?

You could fly to Texas in an hour from Albuquerque.  You could fly to Texas in an hour from Tulsa.  You could fly to Texas in an hour from Tallahassee.

I know you could fly to some point in east Texas from, say, Atlanta in about an hour.

Or, have I missed something about your intent?

Bk, not sure you can get out of Texas in 2 hours max. Brownsville - near So, Padre Island to Houston is a little over an hour flight.

I was looking for a different State that might be close to South Padre, but having had no luck, had already pretty much decided to use Houston.

I am also very sorry to hear abut Bruno.

I do have to thank both DRS SWW andDerBrucer  for the stories about the dogs. Being up at school, I have no pets and hearing about these little fellas has cheered me up. One of the first things I am going to do when I get home tonight for my appointment is go play with my dog.

You can understand why our son flew all the way home from Romania just to see Echo one last time.

I hope your appointment appointment goes well.

Evening all.  Sorry to have been E & T.  I had to work overtime and just ran out of time to post.

DR Jose, I think I will bring the two coats in case one gets wet—I will need a back up.

You wouldn’t BELIVE how cold it is here in Florida now.  It’s 44 degrees F as I type this and it’s raining as well.  That will make it even colder come morning.  Burrr but it is good NYC training.

Thank you for all of the theater/show information.  I really want to see “Fiddler on the Roof”—more for Harvey than anything else.  I think that man has one of the neatest voices I’ve ever heard.

My most sincere condolences to you, DR Joey, on the lost of your Grandmother.  Be happy for the time you had with her.  I only knew my Grandmother on my Dad’s side for a short while.  She passed away when I was six or seven.  I honestly can’t remember.  I just know I remember I was told to pray for her so I prayed the best prayer I could think of—that she had a swimming pool in Heaven.  To be honest, I guess it was because I wanted a swimming pool.

I never met my other Grandparents.  Worse, for my Mother, her Mom passed when she was a baby and her Father when she was but six so she was an orphan.  Tossed from home to home until she got old enough to be “useful” as a free maid service.  Then the family fought over who would “keep” her.

Dear Uncle and SWW, I am also very sad to read about the puppy.  A short life but at least in a loving home.

I like almost every one of the religious movies you already mentioned.  Bells of Saint Mary’s[/l], The Robe. A Nun’s Story to name but a few.  Did you know that for a time I wanted to BE a nun?  It was the outfit, I think.  I didn’t fully understand what being a Nun meant.  ;)

Speaking of "dishes," anybody remember when you would get dishes when you bought gas?

I have books that showed theater marquees advertising that someone would "win" a set of dishes at various showings of some film.

And then there were S&H Green Stamps...which I pasted into books for my mother during my formative years.

The building still stands in Greenville SC where you would take your green stamp books and exchange them for merchandise.

More often glasses than dishes.  We had a collection of coke glasses thanks to the local gas station.

We also had Blue Chip Stamps.  My mother also gave me the unpleasant job of pasting the stamps in the books.  Once I moved out on my own she was very generous with the stamps and I purchased a number of necessary items, such as my ironing board I had for 37 years.  They don’t make them like that any more.  She actually insisted I get the ironing board and iron because she couldn’t stand to see me in my wrinkled clothes. ;D

We had Green Stamps and Top Value Stamps (which were yellow).  I remember helping my Mom paste them into the books.

I don't remember what we got with them.

If Fiddler on the Roof counts then it is at the top of my list.  A few others are:

The Nun’s Story
The Bishops Wife
The Robe
Androcles and the Lion

Does Two Mules for Sister Sara count? ;D

Danise I don’t know how you are going to take all that stuff with you.  ;D

A rain slicker or waterproof windbreaker over one coat might work better than taking two coats.

Bruce we didn’t purchase new phones today.  The only Panasonic’s at Costco included answering machines and we have voice mail now.  They were also the ones with one base with extension phones (or whatever they are called).  We tried those once before and they didn’t work too well.  They had a VTech phone but we aren’t familiar with the brand.  I will have to do some research.

DerBrucer and SWW, Keith and I are so sorry about Bruno.  The photos of the two pups playing cheered our hearts.

We enjoyed all of the dog photos.  :D

Did you manage to see the vet today?

Well, you are allowed 2 suitcases and a carry on.  I'll just make use of that!   ;D

Wow, is the internet a wonderful tool or what?  Remember the other night when I asked if anyone here knew if there was a soundtrack for the Robert Englund version of POTO?

Well, I looked up the composer and found he has a web page. I sent him any e-mail and he answered me!  Cool, huh?

I am going to get the score from him but as you all know, I don't read music.  At least I'll finely know the words to the song.  I never could catch what they were exactly but I liked the music.

Honest, I don't think so.  It is much better to have it with me then leave it at home and wish I had it.

Hate to say it but it's bed time for me!  Have a good evening all!

Okay, all these cities that I've checked on are at least three hours away.  Two hours is the most.  What now, my love?

Are you "married to" Memphis?  I know you didn't want Louisiana but there is  right in the time zone.....

I think all the crazy back stories have to be one of the reasons why they are together on the island.

I wonder how many people will use the numbers in the lottery this week.

The Panasonic I got was the one without the answering machine.

I don't know what I just did to my finger - I was attempting to peel off one of those security things they put INSIDE DVD cases.  Well, it was like a steel knife went right up my fingernail.  What pain, what blood.  The bleeding actually stopped right away.  I put some Neoporum on it and a Band-Aid.  It's the index finger of my right hand, which makes typing very difficult.  Hopefully, by the time I am ready to write in the morning I'll be able to take the bandgage off.
