Hello DR Ann, how was your drive with your mother?  Did it take you  8 -9 hours as the mom drives or the 35 minutes it apparently takes DR Jed?

I have a had a busy day of church and sunday school, cleaning and laundry and laundry and laundry and laundry and Luther League and some more laundry... usually I do a load a night and keep pretty much on top of it, but this week we were busy every night , and all day yesterday..it's amazing how much laundry three people can create in a weeks time.....

If bk will drop hints about wonderful ebay finds and mysterious phone messages and secret selected songs and then simply slip away, he must not complain about my boring laundry stories.

Speaking of tragic, has anyone else seen the new Pepsi commercial that has inserted the famous "I'm Spartucus" scene into a plug for soda?

I bet if Kirk were here he would kick the butt of whomever approved the use of the clip

What I won on eBay: A baseball.  But not just any ordinary baseball.  This one is from Dodger Stadium circa 1959 and it is signed by all the principal cast of the film Li'l Abner, including Miss Leslie Parrish.  How do you like them egg rolls, Mr. Goldstone.

I will only say that I won a fantastically fantastic item on eBay this evening, and that all songs are now chosen and routined for the Guy Haines album.

BK, even though it's not "Ask BK Day" Wednesday, what does "routined" mean...in the context of a recording?  I've never heard that reference.

Was it signed at a Dodgers game....were the Dodgers in LA in 1959?  Stella Stevens and Leslie Parrish at a baseball game?

I am intrigued.

Yes, I believe the Dodgers were here by then - apparently it was Paramount day. Peter Palmer definintely signed, but I'm not sure about Stella.  Carmen Alvarez for sure, Leslie for sure, Mel Frank for sure, Billie Hayes and Joe E. Marks for sure, and Stubby Kaye for sure.

Routining is basically another word for arranging - it's figuring out the layout of the song as we're doing it.  Where and what the vamps are, whether there's an instrumental, what the intro and rideout will be, and what key and key changes (if any) are involved.  I'm very excited about the song selection, as is Mr. Haines.  There is a lot of variety and also a lot of hollywood reporter.  Also, quite a few obscurities and not-often recorded songs, along with a couple of world premieres, and a couple of standards.  Fourteen in all, although we may end up with a fifteenth if we feel we need it.  And there will definitely be a hidden track - something I wanted to do for Guy's first album, but we ran out of time.

Good Evening!

Greetings from Fairfax, VA. -I'm on my way to NYC!

I finally got all my stuff packed up, put away, cleaned, sorted and organized around 7:30.  Then I headed over to Steve's place with some Chinese food for a nice dinner.  Then we watched "How Do I Look?" on the Style Network.   Hmm... Very interesting show... Hmmm....

*But they were running the promos for their new gameshow: Craft Corner Deathmatch.  That sounds interesting too.

OH!  And they had a "Welcome Home! Martha Stewart Living Marathon" on today too.  ;)

http://www.stylenetwork.com

Then I drove up here to Fairfax.  Got in around just past midnight.  I've been reorganizing some stuff in my luggage, and just taking care of some little things before heading to bed.  Which I must do soon since I will be on the 7:15 Amtrak later this morning, and I start playing auditions at Equity at Noon.

So...
