Watching the extras to The River first. In a documentary on the making of the movie, it says that Rumer Godden hated the movie of Black Narcissus to the point that she wasn't going to sell any of her other books to the movies. Renoir won her over and worked with her on the script.

The donuts sounds amazing. I'm not big on spicy. My s-i-l is from Thailand so she watches what I'm served. If it's a spicy dish, she says "no, Jan, that's not for you." My absolute favorite is Pad Thai. If my s-i-l is coming to see me, she has her sister make some to bring out to me.

More than a year...I never got them back completely. Many things have to be strongly seasoned for me to taste them. Some things still taste "wrong" like imitation version of the food.
