I've seen SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS 2-3 times, but not for many years.

When it first came out, I was 20-years-old, and it did have an emotional effect on me.

I don't know how I'd feel about it if I watched it again today.

I don't love that but neither do I dislike it.

Sometime this coming week, I am going to lose the use of my computer for approximately two (2) weeks.

 :'( :'( :'(

I have been informed that my Mac model has a major problem that can only be repaired by shipping the computer direct to Mac headquarters.

 >:( >:( >:(

I have an older model Mac that might give me some internet access, but I won’t be able to send or receive e-mail from it, and I’m not sure how well I will do with it on this site or Facebook.

Hopefully you will still be able to post.

TCB Question of the Day:

The Lion King
Doctor Zhivago

The new Lion King?

Interesting about Doctor Zhivago, which I liked very much....I preferred the movie to the novel.

When I was online with a company having to identify myself based on the questions when I signed up, and the rep on then phone said "here's one, if you get this right, I'll know you're you for sure.  What's your favorite movie?"

(I remembered I had joined the legal research site and answered the security questions in the mid-1990s.)

I said "Breaking Away" -

she said "That's it, it's a really good movie, but in all my years here, it's never been anyone else's all-time favorite movie."

Bummer. Will you write during those two weeks?

It's great to be able to see the bright side!

I was never conditioned for it.  Until this cyberstalking thing started so suddenly by (I'll disguise the names) Bonkers' videographer Mr. Jonathan Crank  in Feb 2011, started 2007 still there in 2018, I never had the kind of  adversity to have to stand up for anything of much importance, so never got conditioned to look for a bright side in an undeserved bad situation.   I certainly never was used to lawyers like their Elliot Brown that just flat-out lie, but try suing a law firm.  They seem to say that if you protest what their client does illegally even a peep louder than the violator wants, then you (the retaliation victim) are the bully.  It's very Trumpian, very blame the victim, don't answer why or if your client did it - say what's wrong with their victim.

I do not understand what bright side has been seen in not having a computer for two weeks.  Are you referring to your view that it might be nice not to receive email during that time?

Perfect timing for TCB's question as this movie that I hated was just mentioned on FB.  Did anyone actually like Reflections In a Golden Eye?

Probably not.  I write on my computer.

I have 4000+ DVDs.  Will probably watch a lot of those.

Watching Phantom of the Paradise. Fun stuff. Next up, Hunchback II.

Enjoy Skip's songs.  Otherwise, remember that it was all very quickly aged down to pre-school.  I'm not sure what to make of Quasi wanting his own appearance to be overlooked, but he falls for the most beautiful lady in town.

It feels like people onstage who are overweight asking for fairness in equal casting on stage or screen for overweight people, yet the person they are married to and fell for is in great shape - so that's what they favor and maybe don't get that viewers might feel that way to with who they see onstage.

The script was mindless. The animation was atrocious.

Here is a Possible Topic of Discussion for a lazy day of posts:

What movie do you strongly dislike, that apparently every other person in the entire free world (plus Latvia) simply loves?

(plus Latvia) ;D

At the time it was released "Blow-Up".
"Titanic" I didn't hate it until the ending.  Up until they it was kind of ok.

The special effects in Titanic  were so laughably awful (I remember some propeller looking small next to the people) that I couldn’t even enjoy the last half.

And that theme song. Gag.

Finishing up the first part of Robert A. Caro's bio of Robert Moses, The Power Broker. Interesting story of man I know nothing about at a time and place in history that I know nothing about, except from musicals. That little tin box song from Fiorello is truth.

I've been listening to more than 20 hours so far. I wonder how long the next part will be.

No wonder. I just looked it up and the full book is 1,246 pages. That's longer than War and Peace.

I've started the movie Grace, directed by Neil Jordan and starring Isabelle Hubert. It's been sitting here for a couple of weeks. Kinda creepy opening. I like it.

TCB's TOD:

Movies I disliked:
MEMENTO is at the top of the list. I can't see how anyone would like this movie. We had to watch the same violent scenes over and over. Ugh!

I didn't think much of TITANIC, either. Such a build-up! EVERYONE LOVED it! Meh.

There were others, I'm  sure. These came quickly to mind.

Druxy, I would encourage you to purchase a tablet for occasions such as this. For those of use who use are computers soooo much it really does make sense to have a back-up. Either that or use your phone. (Personally, I don't like working on such a small device, but it can be done.)

Hope you can stay in touch while your Mac is being repaired.
