I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep or close to it. I was up at ten-thirty, answered e-mails, had several telephonic conversations, but hadn't heard a peep from the car place. I called, was told my service agent's name was Dave and that he was with a customer. He called me back about fifteen minutes later - it was very clear the car hadn't even been looked at let alone diagnosed. What is, I wonder, the point of leaving a car the night before, if they're not going to look at it first thing in the morning? Anyway, he just called - at the moment they can't get it to start - he asked if the battery was dead and I told him it's barely a year old and shouldn't be dead and that if it is it's under warranty. So, the next step is doing a diagnostic to find the problem, which they charge $175 for, but which is applied to the repairs. I then got strong with the guy, telling him I'd had a really bad experience with the previous owners of that dealership and that he had to be straight with me every step of the way, and that he cannot give me wrong information or do anything that's not real - I told him if that's what it feels like, I take it instantly to another service place for a second opinion. He promised me he would take care of me. So, I probably won't hear anything until tomorrow morning.
