Jeanne & Bruce a new deli is going into the spot that used to be Juniors as Lenny's, thank goodness, just closed.

I hadn't heard about this. Jane, was your "thank goodness" because a new deli is taking Lenny's place or because Lenny's closed?

Because Lenny's closed ;D

I like balsamic dressing. I've been looking for a good one. Walden Farms makes one that's very tasty, but it contains artificial sweeteners, which I don't want. I find many bottled dressings sweet these days. I don't know if I'm just more sensitive to it, or the makers are catering to the public's desire for sweetness.

John G??

I keep my balsamic & olive oil in a jar & just shake it before using it.  I keep it in a cupboard vs the frig.

I had to go to the mail place.  I started to walk, but I just couldn't think about doing four miles.  So, for the first time ever, I used the Uber app I've had for years.  Within two minutes a driver was here and took me to the mail place.  Seven bucks and a little tip.  The most interesting thing about the app is it tells you exactly how many miles you're going - so, apparently I've been severely underestimating how much I've actually been walking because from here to Laurel Canyon is THREE miles, not TWO.  So, that's six miles.  Go know.  Anyway, I picked up a couple of packages - one was too big so that will have to stay there until tomorrow.

Then I walked over a mile to Hugo's and had some pasta papa.  After that, I walked home, approximately two more miles.  I am not enjoying being without transportation one bit, I must say.

I got home, listened to music, had a bunch of telephonic calls, then finally texted the car place.  He was apologetic but said it was taking a while but that we'd know something tomorrow and that he'd also do his best to have a loaner for me.  I do NOT want to go into this weekend without transportation.  That said, Uber is surprisingly easy to do and pretty inexpensive in the scheme of things.

That was pretty much the day.  I was so pooped I sat on my couch and watched a movie in between nodding off.

Speaking of photos, DR George thanks for the cute one of Neve.

You're welcome, Jane.

And on that note (A#), I'm outta here.  I'm going to a local restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday with other friends, then we're all going to see The Muppet Movie on the big screen!

Be back later!

A bunch of us met at the Curry House in Lacey.  I'd never been there, but I liked what I got.  I got vegetarian item Paneer Bhuna (homemade Indian cheese cubes cooked with onions, bell peppers and tomatoes).  I got the medium spice version, and it was fairly spicy, but not too spicy.  I don't know when/if I'll go back, but if I do, there are a couple of other things that I'd might try, also.

The Muppet Movie was so much fun!  One person in our group had never seen it!  A few people sang along with some of the songs, but not all (it wasn't billed as a sing-along).  A good time was had by all!

I'm listening to Viennese waltzes - not my kind of thing, really, but they're so well performed by Antal Dorati in superb Living Presence sound.  It's amazing how instantly recognizable these are - not by composer or name, but the minute they start up.

I miss eating the Creamy Walla Walla Sweet Onion Salad Dressing on my salads at home.  It is a special treat these days.

Jane, wasn’t there one particular brand of that dressing that you were crazy about?

DR Kevin, please jog my memory.  When are you leaving?

I'm leaving for NYC on Friday, then to Chicago on Monday.   BJS concerts on Saturday in Madison Square Garden and on Tuesday at the United Center.

Oh wow!!  You are going to see Billi Jean Smith in concert!!

When I make a salad, I like to include a lot herbs from the garden. That would include two types of chives, mint, sorrel, oregano, Mexican mint marigold (which tastes like tarragon), parsley, thyme and a touch of rosemary.

I’ll pass on that salad.

My mom LOVES all kinds of waltzes.  She's from Germany, so she grew up around that kind of music.
