TCB, the reason you wish to back in is so you'll be covered when you put the scooter into or out of the trunk? One would certainly think that falls within ther ADA guidelines of reasonable accommodation.

Absolutely!

FYI:

Sam Liccardo, the mayor of San Jose, has spent the past two weeks attending memorial services and vigils for the victims of last month’s Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting. Two people who were killed in Gilroy were from San Jose, both of them children. The mayor says he has stumbled for words — all that he could muster sounded like “trite pablum,” Mr. Liccardo said in an interview.

On Monday, he proposed what he hopes will be a more substantive response, a proposal to require gun owners to buy liability insurance. The idea has been around for a number of years but Mr. Liccardo’s office says it would be the first time it is actually put into practice.

It will be months until a bill is ready for a vote in the City Council, but the mayor says he is counting on San Jose, as the nation’s 10th largest city, to inspire other municipalities to take similar steps.

The idea behind the proposal is that insurance would incentivize gun safety in the same way that car insurance encourages better driving. Gun owners who have taken a safety course might receive a discount, whereas someone with a prior domestic violence conviction would be forced to pay a higher price for insurance.

“I would be lying if I said to you that the insurance companies are enthusiastic about this,” Mr. Liccardo said.

from the NYTimes

That sounds like a good idea!

Mixed greens, sliced sweet peppers, yellow, orange and red. Minced onion, sliced white mushrooms, cucumbers, sunflower seeds,  crushed walnuts, dried cranberries, sliced broiled chicken breast, and cherry tomatoes fir Vixdad

That sounds good...except for the mushrooms. :P

First of all, the reason they don’t allow vehicles to back into the parking spots is because of the exhaust fumes going into the condos.  Not so much when they are backing in at the end of the day, but rather when people start their cars and then warm up their vehicles with the exhaust pouring into the condos.

The parking problem is this..... The two handicap parking spots at my building ( where I am currently parking) are at the other end of the building from my condo.  I don’t care about those parking spots, but that is the only handicap ramp up to the sidewalk.

In the beautiful summer weather, those spots are fine for me.  But when the rains return (and they will); not to mention the snow, sleet, hail, thunder and lightning, I will have a very long uncovered ride to my condo.

Jane, I'm thinking it is probably the radiation treatments that Vixmom had.

I thought of that as the initial cause, however, I have taken medications that made my mouth somewhat dry.

The only thing that goes into my trunk is my scooter, or possibly my wheelchair.  The reason for backing into the spot is so that I can remove the scooter from my trunk and then assemble it on the sidewalk.  That eliminates the need to have to go to the other end of the building to the ramp.

Well, I'm off to the callbacks for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, to be directed by my friend pug.  She won't cast me just because we know each other...sadly. ;) I don't know when they'll announce, whether it'll be after all the shows in the company's season have been cast and the roles accepted, or if each show will announce as each director decides.  We'll see what happens.

Be back later!
Darn you won't be cast.  Have a good time anyway.

Jane, I realize that I didn't write that correctly.  I do have as much chance as anyone to be cast.  What I meant was that if she casts me, it'll be because she thought that I was good enough, and right for a role.

I am relieved to know I eead that wrong.

She's not the kind to cast someone (like me) just because she's friends with that someone (like me).  I've auditioned for her before and haven't been cast...fortunately, I've been cast more often than not. :)

As it should be and when you are cast it is for the right reasons.

That would double the time I would be exposed to the elements.  Also, with the other cars parked on either side of my car, so it would be nearly impossible to move all of the pieces from the trunk and then haul each one back to assemble it on the sidewalk.

I am supposed to find out tomorrow what the will of the HOA will be.  They had a meeting this evening at which time Rebecca was going to lay out the problem.  Personally, I would just as soon have them put another handicap ramp at my end of the building.

Were you given an opportunity to talk with the board??
