Well, I'm off to the callbacks for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, to be directed by my friend pug.  She won't cast me just because we know each other...sadly. ;) I don't know when they'll announce, whether it'll be after all the shows in the company's season have been cast and the roles accepted, or if each show will announce as each director decides.  We'll see what happens.

Be back later!

Richard Crenna was one of the first celebrities I met. It was on the set for THE REAL MCCOYS. I was 7 or 8. That certainly dates me, doesn't it?

I cannot understand how a person (me!) can be dead to the world from lack of sleep and then can't nap! Too much on my mind, I guess.

I had last-minute stuff to do today to prepare for tomorrow's surgery. The important stuff has been done. The rest will wait.

I've seen that parking restriction posted in a couple of places. One was a public parking garage for a busy commuter train station, so I imagine it's to keep everything moving as best possible, since it takes a little more time and effort to back INTO a space than to back out of one.

In a typical condo parking lot I'm not sure why it would be a big deal.

I was president of a HOA once. The rules were written so that ANYTHING could be construed as a violation if the board deemed it so. This was the standard HOA rule book. I think they did that to cover themselves so they could enforce it as they chose.

That said, I cannot understand why anyone would object to someone backing into their parking space.

TCB, the reason you wish to back in is so you'll be covered when you put the scooter into or out of the trunk? One would certainly think that falls within ther ADA guidelines of reasonable accommodation.

I would want that option just getting groceries, or anything, out of the trunk.

FYI:

Sam Liccardo, the mayor of San Jose, has spent the past two weeks attending memorial services and vigils for the victims of last month’s Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting. Two people who were killed in Gilroy were from San Jose, both of them children. The mayor says he has stumbled for words — all that he could muster sounded like “trite pablum,” Mr. Liccardo said in an interview.

On Monday, he proposed what he hopes will be a more substantive response, a proposal to require gun owners to buy liability insurance. The idea has been around for a number of years but Mr. Liccardo’s office says it would be the first time it is actually put into practice.

It will be months until a bill is ready for a vote in the City Council, but the mayor says he is counting on San Jose, as the nation’s 10th largest city, to inspire other municipalities to take similar steps.

The idea behind the proposal is that insurance would incentivize gun safety in the same way that car insurance encourages better driving. Gun owners who have taken a safety course might receive a discount, whereas someone with a prior domestic violence conviction would be forced to pay a higher price for insurance.

“I would be lying if I said to you that the insurance companies are enthusiastic about this,” Mr. Liccardo said.

Probably in the evening. We're doing it as an outpatient, which I am very thankful for. Fewer drugs and I loathe hospitals.

Back from Costco, with a 44-lb box of cat litter and after indulging in the Costco special:  the $150 giant hot dog & bottomless soda.

One hundred and fifty dollars? That must be some giant hotdog!

Woops!!!

I forgot Richard Crenna was in Body Heat. Fun movie. I liked it better before I had seen film noir from the '40s.
