Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

Has anyone else seen it?

Not I.  What's it about?

When it starts out The main character is a recent widow.  She has one grown son who has a really dim girlfriend, the gf's mum is an absolute b*****, her inlaws are old miserable things, her brother in law is involved with a very rich, very pretentious divorcée, and her husband's best friend is secretly in love with her.

The only really nice people are Mum and the man who loves her.

The rest of them are all selfish and unaware nitwits

Oh, my! :o

I can't still can't say I like the show,  if I can't stop watching it.

I've seen a few shows like that.

We've also been watching a New Zealand series called 900 words.

This is about a recently widowed newspaper columnist and his 2 teenage children who move from Australia to a remote beach side village in New Zealand

I also liked 900 WORDS--at first. Then the antics of the teenagers got to me.

I tried MUM, but just couldn't get into it.  I have little patience these days for people who are stupid, thoughtless, etc. I think the reason I like CALL THE MIDWIFE so much is that these characters are truly struggling, they are doing their very best to cope with really tough circumstances. I can respect that.

Vixmom, if you come across THE SYNDICATE--ALL OR NOTHING, give it a try. I loved it. It's a lottery story with a twist.

This sounds like "One Day at a Time" except a father instead of a mother.

Do they have a funny maintenance guy named Schneider?

Home finally after ushering for Mary Poppins Returns. I was expecting a big crowd, but I forgot that it's Friday night lights season and all of San Antonio was likely at a football game.

The people who were there really enjoyed it, though.

I was surprised at how much I liked it. This was the second time I had seen it, and it really is not a bad movie, except for the music, which is a third-rate imitation of the original. And Rob Marshall tries too hard with the fantasy. But the human parts, the story of Michael and his kids, actually works.

I got a cookbook in the mail today. Eddie Jackson's Game-Day Eats. I don't know who Jackson is (Google tells me he's with the Chicago Bears), but I like a lot of tailgating food. So, this should be fun.

I doubt I could watch MUM for that same reason and feel the same way about CALL THE MIDWIFE.

For the second night in a row I had a glass of wine with dinner, such a yummy treat.  Tonight we had Thai Food.  I had noodle but skipped the white rice.
