Off to see the day.

I like that expression!  It almost seems like you're saying you're off to seize the day, but it's accepting that the say may just want to be seen and not seized.

BK - Wow, that situation with the lead actor sound tough, but someone must think he's worth it.

Regarding just the transportation, this came up on a show I was involved with:  If the production has someone involved with a guest room who'd get a kick out of bragging rights of having the lead actor stay with them,  the production may find it easier to find a place for him to stay nearby rather than have the stage manager have to constantly deal with transportation every day.

Or of course if the production has the means to do it, rent him a car, or a small apartment that's nearby or reachable by a cheap cab ride or him being picked up.

(This is taking into account that someone must have really felt having this leading man was worth a little effort.)

I got home from Cafe Frida around 10:15 and I was in bed by 10:30. Because I had had two margaritas, I wasn't sure what I could take, so I ended up taking a Tizanidine and a Tylenol with codeine, told the cats, I hope I see you tomorrow, and went to bed.

There were seven of us for dinner, which was excellent.  My friends John Bell and Michael Gildin - Joshie's roommate - leave on Sunday for Oklahoma City.  John, who's supervising the musical side of the tour of Fiddler on the Roof in its last Broadway revival will be putting Michael in as conductor with two new musicians. My Guys & Dolls/How To Succeed . . . colleague Jason just got back from seeing family in Oregon(?), and it was nice to see him.  He was also kind enough to see an inebriated gimp to his front door when we disbanded.

They even brought me a delicious chocolate birthday cake, and John took the uneaten remainder for his rehearsal today.  I didn't want to bring it home with me.  While they sang Happy Birthday to me, I had to wear the Big Sombrero.  Rob Berman would not let the moment pass.

For some reason I cannot post this photo.

T.O.D.

No idea what we will watch tonight or this weekend, but last night we watched Fritz Lang's MINISTRY OF FEAR with Ray Milland.

Not that great, but the cast included 2 character actors I used to know: Carl Esmond and Alan Napier.

Condolences to DR ELMORE.....it's a killer....  I just assumed I would be all right and the doctors would get me through.  But things like this remind me everyday of what a bullet I dodged and how I am now living on borrowed time.

PICNIC went well last night.....so we shall see what happens tonight.

Annoying person Number One asked me Wednesday if I wanted to know what she liked about the show....so I said yes.

She said:  The music, and Madge's blue dress.

I wanted to say - "Well that made it a long night for you, didn't it?"

But I just didn't say anything.

I don't know.  I assume it is, since I can't imagine there would be two tours at the same time.

DR JRand69, yes, it is the same Fiddler on the Roof.  After they leave Oklahoma City, they will play Indianapolis.
