We usually keep living room furniture until we get tired of it....eight years or so....however at age 69, I think I have bought my last sofa...in 2017.

DR TCB - I posted this last night, but it didn't show up.

We wear leather microphone belts to hold our wireless microphone paks.  I tried to maybe put Hal's pak in his back pocket, but his jeans were too tight.  And anyway, we would still have the wire from the pak to his ear to deal with.

I tried to tell from some videos of the Broadway revival how they did it - but I couldn't tell....didn't see any wires - but I'm sure he was miked.....

So he just wore his sleeveless t-shirt....

TOD: We haven't had a tv since you had to buy a converter box. We had working tvs off and on while the kids grew up. We often made them inoperable, which my son will finally understand when the grandson gets older.

We did get some rain this morning. Finally. A few drops in the rain gauge. Hopefully some more during the day.

50” Panasonic 1080p plasma from (eek) 2010 in the Music/Movie room, and a 7.1 surround setup. While I rue the day I didn’t buy larger, I love this screen like no other, and the eek is because I dread thinking about the day it gives up the ghost. Yes, today’s better OLEDs beat that plasma quality, but prices are something else and this one is still stunning. In the bedroom, a 32” Insignia that’s perfectly fine for late night watching.

Nathan and Kristi own the 55” (nothing fancy, it gets the job done) in the living room and I think it’s a 32” in their bedroom.

We’re still old-school cable TV customers who have only recently begun to branch out into watching a few things on Netflix and maybe Amazon, but we haven’t acquired any other devices for streaming or anything. That’s all still Greek to me (same as Greek itself). Part of the reason for sticking with Comcast/Xfinity is that their service and speeds are pretty top notch around here, especially important when it comes to broadband for both internet and phone.

Monday morning greetings!  I am ready for the day, which includes watching a Facebook Live at noon, a DAR conference call at 1pm, and a trip to Oxford this evening to eat pizza with Miami University student AAUW members and attend a book talk with them.

We watched Part Five of Ken Burns' Country Music...

I'm glad you remembered it was resuming last night!  I was home from Haydn's CREATION and dinner with Sharon just in time to join Richard for the broadcast.

Good morning!

Thank you. We are stying on a bench under a tree which is not keeping us dry. It is a good thing I grabbed my rain coat because it might rain later. Darn, it was lovely when we arrived.

I watched five minutes of the Emmy Awards....and that was enough....Amy Pohler and some other woman were yakking and yakking and YAKKING and finally gave an award to Alex Borstein who proceeded to talk about body parts.....

I have never heard of most of the shows OR the actors - so it's not much fun for me anymore.

I like Borstein on Mrs Maisel

Since it is almost next door to our hotel we ate at the original Hardrock Cafe.  They used to have a fantastic bean burger which then became a decent one and often a real treat when we are traveling.  They ave changed the burger to what the waiter said was a Beyond Burger.  Darn.
