In the extras on The King of Jazz, it was interesting to learn that George Gershwin had a falling out with Paul Whiteman. Gershwin didn't like the slow romantic way Whiteman played part of the Rhapsody in Blue and let him know it in no uncertain terms. Whiteman continued to play it his way.
