"Aggrandize" aggravates you, Elmore?
I find the aggregate of that statement to be egregious.
I am aghast and aggrieved.

What?  You're not agape?  Not agog?

Good Afternoon!

Back from the final dress tech.  We started around 1:30, and were done just a little past 3:00.  :)

So, I headed over to the Edison Hotel where I had a nice lunch/dinner in the Edison Cafe (a.k.a. The Polish Tea Room).  I had their Beef Brisket Special... I guess the quantity of the serving was meant to compensate for the general blandness of the serving.  Ah, well...  -Oh, but the Matzoh Ball soup was pretty good.  And, strangely enough, this was the first time that the vegetable were NOT overcooked!  So that was a nice surprise.

Then I hopped onto the A Train, and now I'm just taking a little breather back here at the apartment.  I'm listening to Sunday In The Park With George - it's sort of my opening night ritual.  *The other usual part of my "ritual" is doing some major house-cleaning - ??? - but that shall have to wait until tomorrow... or not..  ;)

And I'm a-reading and a-posting...

DR Ben - Congrats to DR and DP Anthony!  I've actually never made it down to Mill Mountain, but I've worked with a bunch of their alumni, and I know a lot of their staff from the SETC conferences.  I'm sure he'll be splendid!

DR vixmom - Cargo Cover, Cargo Cover, Cargo Cover

... Do the ones from Ford Escorts work?  Or will they be too small?

*If you still don't have one by late May-ish, June-ish, I could send you the one from my 1993 Ford Escort - if it's compatible.  -I'll be selling it (for scrap, most likely) before moving up to NYC.

It would have been rude and inappropriate for Bobby to have used the "Little Dog" lyric in re his sister, of course.

TRAILERS

The original teaser for Star Wars certainly grabbed my attention.  It's strange, remembering now how different it looked from everything I'd seen before.

Far beyond that was the way Disney introduced The Lion King.  Putting the opening sequence up there on the screen, without any narration telling the audience what they were about to see, just blew me away.  (Der Brucer and I happened to see this at Walt Disney World, as part of their animation studio tour.  Talk about the right place at the right time!)

"The Band Wagon" was filmed in Academy ratio.

I don't know if this has been asked and answered before (and I didn't search to find out), but where did the term "Academy ratio" come from?  I know it's the equivalent of what is now called "full screen," but when the widescreen processes (Cinerama, Cinemascope, etc.) started to be developed, did they, from the beginning, refer to the previous version as "Academy ratio?"

My question of the day is similar to George's.

How does one know about ratios on DVDs? I wouldn't know one ratio from another, or what ration a film was made in originally. Is it something that is noticable? I just haven't got a clue.

DR VIXMOM it's called a cargo security shade, I think.  here are some that won't fit your car - but if it's close to what you want, maybe that will help your search.   ;D
