Back from the Allen of Joe, and what a swell time we had.  Grand to see elmore and my NY assistant and pal Jonathan, who, as it turns out, is a regular lurker around these here parts.  Hi, Jonathan!  We're trying to convince him to join our merry mad troupe.

After being so good for the past three weeks, eating-wise, I'm afraid I was quite bad tonight, but then, it was my only meal o' the day.  I had a shrimp cocktail, a dinner Caesar salad, bread, a bacon cheeseburger and a baked potato, and peanut butter pie with whipped cream.  But that's the only gorging I'm going to do.  Plus I walked a LOT today and tonight.  More later.  I'll write the notes in an hour or two.

The restaurant is in the theatre district.  Lots of parking choices.  And lots of other people to park with you - if you get my drift.

I'll find the actual address in a bit...

However, if you don't mind a few blocks' walk, the parking over at the Skyline Hotel is dirt cheap by NYC standards.  It's over at 50th and 10th.  I believe parking is still $15 for the night past 5:00pm.

Angus McIndoe, on 44th Street, next to THE PRODUCERS, I believe!  I'm back from a lovely time with Dear Friend BK, and I got to finally meet Jonathan in person after knowing him only from phone conversations.  He's got a sharp mind, a ready wit, and a passion for DVD releases, so I'm not sure he'll fit in.  Jonathan, come and join HHW!!  Try it, you'll like it!

Late night for me, 'cause we went to Cincinnati to pick up Rob for his spring break.  I'm just about as packed as one can be the night before, cell phone is charging, iPod is charging, and I'm about to go to bed to recharge myself.  Have to leave about 9am tomorrow to drive to the Land of Cleve (oh, I've always wanted to do that!) to catch my plane.

Glad to hear that bk arrived safely and there was a lovely gathering tonight.  Safe journeys to my fellow travellers tomorrow.  See you all soon!

Thank you dear Jose & dear Larry for the  information.  I think I found a place where I can park on 44th for $11. I am now definitely off to bed...

Oops!

Apparently, the Company Manager sent me last year's housing options by mistake the other day, so...  Since the WNBA tournament is in town the same week that MAMMA MIA! comes in, the downtown hotels are either booked or demanding higher rates.  So, instead of the Residence Inn, I will be staying at the Towneplace Suites By Marriott on Union Chapel Road.  We had another option, but since the decor had been described as, I kid you not, "Amish on crack", I decided against it.  ;)

Now, if there are any Indy DRs who happen to need some housekeeping and cooking done for a couple of days...

-Oh, and I also realized that I'll only be playing the shows while I'm in Indy (and Memphis).  No rehearsals to play, so I'll have plenty of daytimes free.  Any suggestions?

Good show tonight.  Small, but appreciative - and vocal audience.  And apparently, there was nice little burst of ticket sales today too.  :)

OH!... I've lost track of how long the "out-of-towners" are coming if for.  I'll be "off" from the close of Sunday's matinee to the 7:30 call for Wednesday night's show.  If any DRs would like to walk the isle of Manhattan with me...

;)

...And since it was sort of brought up earlier..

Just how are we going to be splitting the bill at Angus McIndoe?  Will they be adding on the gratuity in advance?  And should we all have wallets and purses with lots of small bills in them?

Good evening, fellow Dear Readers.

I saw the concerts mentioned by DR Sandra earlier, plus DR Kerry took me to see my favorite duo -Steve and Eydie.

When I was a young teen, I so wanted to see The Osmond Brothers, but my mother wouldn't allow me to go to a rock concert at the Phoenix Coliseum, because they do drugs at rock concerts at the Phoenix Coliseum, you know.

Well my cameras and phones are charged. My IPod is getting more music (more than I need) and will not get a little bit of sleep before I get to the airport.

I called the airline and the FSA website to find out if a camera tripod is legal as part of your carry on luggage. I couldn't find an answer. Anyone know?

Camera tripods are legal for carry-on.  BUT note that the airlines are being VERY strict lately with carry-on luggage - size, weight, number of pieces.  If your tripod is in it's own case, they will most likely consider it one of your two allowed pieces.

Sweet Boatniks! You shall be mine!!

I had the chance to buy THE BOATNIKS once at a PeepWorld. You see, here in NYC, Giuliani had gotten rid of a lot of the porn dealers, but they could stay open if a certain percentage of their inventory was non-porn. This made for some good VHS deals back in the day if one was willing to go inside these places. But I went to buy THE BOATNIKS with my credit card, and they said I had to spend at least $20 to use the card. I figured I'd come back again some day. Then PeepWorld and every other building on that block (42nd between 6th and Broadway) was razed to the ground.

May I just ask a question?  Since when did they start making mannequins with defined body parts???  Have you seen these?  I mean, really!  I walked by a clothing shop and there were some female mannequins in skirts and blouses, with nipples protruding proudly.  Then there are the male mannequins - have you seen those, the ones they use for underpants?  I mean, really!  Do I NEED to see that?
Yes, you do!!!  You, and your little dog Toto, and your children too!  You all need to see these things, because to not see these things is unrealistic and shameful!  Show off those titties!  Show off those...whatever they're called these days when they're on mannequins and stiff when plastered in the way that real men aren't!  Show them off, on billboards and in store windows that little children see as they walk to school!

And if you don't like it, maybe your children shouldn't be walking to school!  So there!

Ain't advertising wonderful?   ;D

I thought CINDERELLA was scheduled for October 4th. Shows what I know. I watched the trailer for it on THE INCREDIBLES DVD, and I remembered that CINDERELLA is probably the least elaborate animation of all the Disney classics. It seems much less showy, much more sparse in its backgrounds and effect.
Great animation on the shadows, particularly those coming from the windows.
