Home from therapy, which once again dragged out all the Halloween stops.  Gurjeet has this child-like love for Halloween, and ever since I began seeing him in the 1990s, the day has been special, with decorations, the staff in costume, and today even Shelby, his labradoodle, was in costume.  The decor, both inside and outside, was amazing.

Sorry I didn't post last night when I dropped in.  I started reading but there were incredibly (and happily) four oases since I;d been there - and Iliterally fell asleep while reading them, not because they were dull, it was just late.

I shot this in an idle moment the other day. It's the "MOHS waiting room" at the dermatologist's, where patients wait and read and nosh while waiting to be called back in for another "shaving" or final stitching or whatever. Nice place, very comfortable, etc., and out of respect for the others, I made it more a carpet picture for DR Laura.

I must also say that it was somewhat amusing to sit there with your temporary bandage on, in the company of other people with the same bandage on various spots of their face or head, all reading books or their phones, as in an assembly line. My crowd was all of "senior" age. As the doc put it, this is our reward for having gotten those childhood sunburns back when no one knew any better! Especially for us fair-complexioned types.

I’ve had to endure delays at the airport which range from supremely annoying to miserable. Glad you’re almost on your way, DR JohnG. Here’s to a good trip.

I may have seen the absolute, rock bottom, nadir production of My Fair Lady at the Ohio Light Opera.  It had dreadful choreography by the woman who was then the "choreographer," and I use that term very lightly.  She had no sense of invention, one set of prancing steps, and you saw them in every production.  They pranced all during the song "Wouldn't It Be Loverly," so when they got to the dance music, it was cut.  After "The Rain In Spain," Mrs Pierce and the servants are supposedly awakened by the romping because she asks Higgins if he had heard the racket.  In the OLO production, the idiot director brought them on to observe the romping, so the line made no sense.  The Act Two curtain fell on Liza and Higgins in a big hot kiss. The atrocities go on and on . . .

Perfect timing for Halloween!

I'm pleased to announce that the audio edition of my one-woman play, YVONNE DE CARLO, is now available for audio download via audible.com, Amazon and iTunes.

Kathleen Godwin, who previously did my audios of Carole Lombard and Ida Lupino, is magnificent as the sultry actress who is probably best remembered as "Lilly Munster," but also co-starred in many Westerns, swashbucklers and, of course, Cecil B. De Mille's THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

I'm rather proud of this one.  It turned out quite well.  I know you'll enjoy it.

Congrats, Druxy!  I'm curious...do you have her reminiscing about her time in Follies?

Yvonne DeCarlo is a worthy subject DR DRUXY!

If you read/listen to the play, the interviewer she's referring to at the start was me.  What she says happened, really happened.

Cool!

I found out today that the AirBnB where I am staying for the first three days is owned by people who run a Mexican restaurant down the street from their house. Because I don’t know when I will get there, I’m to go to restaurant. Guess I’m having dinner there, too. Like I need to go to Chicago for Mexican food. What are the odds?
