ACTIVE BRAIN SYNDROME

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were active, had a brain, and had a syndrome, and now it is time for you to post until the active cows come home.

T.O.D.

I think I came here in 2002.  My friend, Sharry, had asked me if I had any idea where she could find a mailing address for Jerry Herman.  I told i would see what I could find on the internet.  I was searching, and one of the sites connected to Mr. Herman was this site.  I have no idea why, but I came here and never left.

A lot of memorable events, but really, the bottom line is the people who are here now and those that have left us for one reason or another.

About finding HHW, I wrote this on November 09, 2004, 02:27:14 PM:
Quote
I, too, will not attempt to imitate BK's inimitable style.  I started coming to HHW sometime during the summer after it started (June or July, I think).  I didn't know about The Real A on sondheim.com, only BK's notes on FA.  When that site no longer proved welcoming, I drifted without direction until I found HHW.  I've been coming here ever since (except for when my computer permanently crashed in April of this year and I had no easy access.  I wasn't able to spend ALL of my time at work on HHW...that would be unseemly ::) ).

Anyway, meeting Jeff (and Jeff's wife and kids), Mike (MBarnum) and Jane a few months ago was a thrill.  Hopefully, we can have another PNW HHW gathering that will include Jed, Ann and Tom (TCB)*.  Maybe BK can take a field trip to the Northwest!**

*We eventually did.

**BK eventually did, too.

My HMO has a message system which is how I communicate with my various doctors.  In the 25+ years I have used my pharmacy, which is not a big franchise, but a mom & pop store, I have neither expected nor requested an alert when my prescriptions are ready.  However, I do expect my doctor to reply to my messages.

If she had replied something along the lines of "They've been sent to your pharmacy," all would have been fine.

And I slept quite well last night.  I still wonder when this long streak of poor work and income will end and I continue to worry about making those payments by the 18th.  It's difficult to live on the hope that tomorrow  that Ohio property will actually sell as it is to expect s lottery win.

I don’t feel like leaving a warm, comfy bed. But I must.

After I fed the cats, I went back to bed, but Stella kept climbing over me and Thatch chattered away in the cat tree that sleep was impossible.

Today is the birthday of my brother Macbeth.  I will celebrate it by ignoring it as much as I can.

I'm up, I'm up - maybe seven hours of sleep and awoke to a message that our Mrs. Stanley had a car accident and will not be at rehearsal this day - she's fine but is going to get checked out.  I have yet to have a single rehearsal where everyone has been with us.  I believe TWO people are out today - our Professor Metz is as well.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  Sorry to have missed yesterday's HHW anniversary.  I worked the Holiday Bazaar in the afternoon, took a long nap when I got home, ate pizza with Richard for dinner, and spent the evening at my craft desk.

So, DR Elmore brought me here after I spent some time with him in NYC and he talked a lot about this great online group.  I lurked for a while, then successfully answered a trivia question posted by DR JRand and the rest is history.
