One more group to host today, and then I'm done for a while.

My neighbor Judy brought me some cat food her cats won't eat, thinking my cats might like it.  Stella did.  Annabelle and Thatch gave it thumbs down.

It is shower time.

Is that like in bath and shower, or as in grower and shower?

I'm thinking I feel old enough this weekend , I'm going to just say anything and be like Sophia on Golden Girls.

I made candy cane pie earlier today. It needs to sit for eight hours. But the preview from licking the pan was pretty darn good.

Today the DePauw vs. Wabash football game was on the television machine.

And DePauw won for the first time in two years.....it was a very exciting game....not exactly great football - but entertaining nonetheless.

I located the DVD of "The Man Who Came To dinner" so we'll watch that tonight.

I never owned a copy, but I remember tape-recording some of the audio off TV as a kid, and following along with it in my Modern Library edition.

Fast forward to yesterday. In looking through my DVR holdings I found I’d recorded it off TCM several months ago. I’d completely forgotten that. It will be fun watching it again for the first time in years.

Back from another "line, line, line" rehearsal - a bit smoother than last night, but not much.  After we finished there was ninety minutes left so I made them do a line-through of act one.  Hopefully, that was helpful to them.  I have one actor who has a small but nice role who is so nervous about everything they can't remember two words - I mean, the role in total is maybe a couple of pages.  But this character enters in their first scene and gives Whiteside a gift of some holly.  And we have that prop.  And they carry it in, start talking, and look directly at the  prop and can't get the word "holly" out - after two minutes of that, I yelled pretty loudly, "HOLLY!"  I don't usually do that kind of thing, but I'd had it by that point.

After, Barry, Cindy, and I went to the Smoke House and had a great meal.  Garlic cheese bread, small Caesar salad, small filet mignon and some creamed spinach, and creme brûlée for dessert.  VERY full now.  Must go sit and relax and watch a movie.

We’ve just returned from taking Rob and Mary Linda and her parents out for dinner.  They’re here from Michigan helping the kids get the house ready to list.  We’re pretty useless in that department, but we can at least buy them dinner.  That’s my big outing for the weekend.

I have a question for Ginny,

Dear Dear Reader Ginny,
I thought you were from Ohio. Why are you "Go Blue!"?
