Last night I saw "Pete 'n' Keely" at Birdland. It starred George Dvorsky and Sally Mayes. They had done the show to great acclaim in 2001, I believe. It was a lot of fun!

I watched most of the new Almodovar movie - kept falling asleep, but I can't say I loved it. It's all about his life, his 8 1/2, really, but much more conventional. I like his style very much, but it's very dialogue heavy and has a lot of drug use, which I must say I have almost no tolerance for anymore, in terms of films.

I read earlier today that Kathie Lee Gifford has written an oratorio. Wonder if it's in the same league as Windberg's work.

Today was a rainy day--a good day to go back to the Tenement Museum. They have several tours. In June I took the Sweatshop one and today's was:

The reason I planned this trip to NYC was to see tonight's show: a one-night presentation of a reading of "The Importance of Being Earnest," starring the amazing Angela Lansbury. It was great to see her still acting in her 90's. It was really wonderful.

I did it online and it was pretty easy. I just had to wait a few hours to get my new library card number. Once I got that in my e-mail, I was almost instantly able to check out items.
