My Thanksgiving is now up in the air. I was planning on visiting Bonnie in San Angelo, but she called to say her step-father had died. She doesn’t know what’s going to happen, so we’re playing it by ear. I’m okay with that.

Oh, no. :( My condolences on Bonnie's loss.

Can you tell us what the story is about?

It's about a heart-healthy beef that can actually help you lose weight. I did finish the piece. It was about 550 words.

Now that sounds like a story I would be interested in reading!

I tried to post a photo from today’s con but I’m being told that is too large to post

Vixmom, do you mean this one?

That’s the one.  Vixdad, Paul McGann (movie doctor) , yours truly and Sylvester McCoy (Doctor 7)

DR John a while back you had begun reading One is Inland by Tea Obreht.  Did you like it?  I looks interesting, however, I was just ok with The Tiger's Wife and am not sure I want to read another book by her.

I never had time to finish it before it was due back at the library. I may get it again, but right now six of my other reserved books are in. I finished Julie Andrews' autobiography today.

Thanks.  I suppose if you really liked what you read you would have checked it out again ;)

I didn't get far enough into it to form an opinion. I was like you on "The Tiger's Wife."

Thanks.  I think I will pass on it.  I have no idea why I typed One is before the actual title ;D

I am more interested in Atwood's The Testaments. They're due in soon.

I keep putting off reading the first book thinking Keith will want to watch it.

I had the Cannelonni and Mannicotti (one of each).

One of each, interesting.  I don't think I have seen that combination offered before.

I can't imagine that it's not an option at most places.  It's definitely worth it!  You can get either two cannelloni, or two manicotti, or one of each...which is my preference.

I have never tried Casa Mia.  My sister and her husband really enjoy it.

Well, after my second viewing of Holiday, I still don't like it very much. Too much of the evils of being rich, but You Can't Take It With You is more fun.  I think The cast is really good, and it was fun to see Jean Dixon, who starred on Broadway in Kaufman & Hart's Once In A Lifetime, which happens to be my current bus read. Annabelle loved it, and we will have to suffer through her attempts to speak like Hepburn until I can divert her with something else.  I much prefer The Philadelphia Story, so we may watch that tonight.

It could be worse.  She could have watched a Phyllis Diller movie marathon!

And I finally hit Barnes and Noble during the Criterion sale. Only picked up four, one of which (Thief or Blood Simple) will be a Christmas present. I'm keeping Ozu's Good Morning, a charming comedy I've seen twice before and just love, and Time Bandits.

What was the fourth film?  Or did I read that post wrong?
