If I had rye bread in the freezer I would make peanut butter sandwiches with apricot jam.

No no no no

Peanut butter sandwiches must be on white bread with grape jelly

I have always disliked grape jelly.  Jelly to begin with lacks flavor.  I grew up with good English preserves & jams.

I began eating apricot when I discovered the jam doesn't stain if it drips on you.

I don't remember what brands my parents bought when I was growing up, but at some point, I discovered Adams, then called "Old Fashioned," now "100% Natural."

I recently tried that.  Aside from not being able to stir it, I thought the taste was terrible.

I love the taste of just peanuts and salt.  Right now, I do have some Skippy "No-Stir" all-natural peanut butter extra crunchy (I had a coupon) but you still have to stir it a bit.  Otherwise, I usually just eat it right out of the jar.  Or I'll put it on chocolate bars or something else that goes well with peanut butter.  The current jar that I have is only about a third full, so when that has all been consumed by me, I'll get some more Adams. :D

I should look for the easy stir Skippy.  I also suspect the jar of Adams we had had gone bad.  I hope so, otherwise I can't imagine anyone liking it.

Yes on the eye. Annie LaMott has a great bit in one of her books on how kids know when Dad made their lunch, because he use apricot jelly and how weird kids found that.

Funny.  I never had it has a kid.  While in Ashland I would go to the growers market & buy jams from a woman, along with fresh current bread.  She had a sample of her apricot along with the bread, and they went well together.

My sister gave me some Justin's Cashew butter and Classic Almond Butter.  I also bought some ground-in-the-store almond butter from Fred Meyer that was very expensive and just okay.

I eat enough almonds that I don't need almond butter.  I am now feeling guilty eating almonds as the almond farms are killing the bees :(

I've also had SunButter (sunflower seeds) and Nuttzo Organic Crunchy 7 Nut And Seed Butter.  I like them all, but I really do prefer Adams 100% Natural.

Eagan's, a local burger joint makes their peanut butter shakes with Adam's 100% Natural Crunchy peanut butter.  I really like the shakes with the crunchy peanut butter.

Bruce I was trying to remember what you had said about Jojo Rabbit and couldn't find it by searching.  It must be in the notes and if there is a way to search those I am not aware of it.

Jane, at the bottom of the page of BK's notes is a search box: Search BK's Notes Archive:  Just put your search terms in there and it'll search BK's notes, not the board's posts.  I searched "Jojo Rabbit" and found this on December 18, 2019:

Quote
Yesterday, I chose a DGA screener entitled Jojo Rabbit – I had no idea what it was – in fact, I thought it was probably some stupid animated thing.  Well, it’s anything but that.  What it is is kind of a very clever satire that takes place in Nazi Germany.  It’s fairly audacious – the filming style is kind of that quirky thing that quirky filmmakers like to do – you’ll recognize it right away – but it’s a remarkable film in that it somehow manages the almost impossible feat of negotiating all its tonal shifts.  One minute, you’re laughing out loud at the outrageousness of it, and the next you’re getting surprisingly emotional.  I watched the first forty-five minutes or so, but then had to be on my way to the theater for some callbacks and new auditions.  I was hoping that wouldn’t take too long, but we didn’t finish until around 8:45.

:)

I am glad you showed me his comments.  When I type "Jojo Rabbit" the search doesn't give me anything.  It did change what I typed to...  "Jojo Rabbit"

OK, I see I then need to click on the title of the notes to open them up.

Thank you.

I had a Thai peanut butter burger in New Orleans. I liked it, but I’ve never felt the need to have another. Maybe on a vegetable patty.

Ben and Jerry’s has a new flavor, Netflix and Chill’d. It’s peanut butter ice cream with pretzels and fudge brownies in it. Me want.

Well, this is pretty darned cool!  A complete concert by The Manhattan Transfer and WDR Funkhausorchester from January 11, 2020 was just uploaded to the orchestra's YouTube channel!  Here it is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4qrN7MJzIM

It's 1 hour, 43 minutes and 54 seconds long...and in hi-def! :D
