I had to make a corner bodega trip.  I ran into my neighbor Judy, the wife of jazz pianist Mark Soskin.  She was picking up things for a flight today to Dallas, where Mark was performing there and who's has been hospitalized with a health issue.  I hope he's okay.  They're really wonderful neighbors.

Well, my tablet's battery is about to die, so I need to plug it in and charge it up.  I also need to do some work on my computer, so I'll be back soonly.

Very said exchange in 21 Up between director Michael Apted and a young man named Neil:

Apted: Would you like to be 7 again?
Neil: No. Because I would grow up and have to be 21 again.

I know DR John saw Knives Out.  Has anyone else?

That final shot was everything.

Yes, we were discussing it today.

The pie looks wonderful. Now it has to sit for four hours to settle and cool down.

What kind of pie is it?

Jennifer I feel for you.  How many layers of clothes do you wear to go outside?

I just wear my regular puffer winter jacket with a sweat shirt under it (instead of a regular long sleeve shirt). But I just have a hat, warm gloves and two neckwarmers. It wasn't that bad. But i only had to be outside for less than 5 minutes at a time.

I just walked in fleece lined pants. On my upper half I layered my warmest Cuddle Duds top, a heavy sweatshirt with a hood, a warm vest, a warm coat.  I wore a heavy fleece scarf & a nice fleece hat with ear flaps and it was 40 (4.4c) degrees out though the chill factor made it seem like 36 (2.2c) degrees.

I was wondering how you could wear so little clothing until you said it was only for 5 minutes ;D

Have I mentioned that I love how quickly my new tablet charges?  I had to keep my old one plugged in all the time, and if I was lucky it would be charged by bedtime.

Yikes!  I bought my washer and dryer (granted, this was more than 13 years ago ::) ) for about $600.

Yes I would not go walking in this weather with any amount of clothing. But for us 36F is warm. I wouldn't even need a hat. :)

The frigid temps actually weren't too bad. It wasn't windy.

The damp & the wind make it worse.  When I walked in -40 degree weather in Michigan it took me half an hour to layer on enough clothes to go outside.
