I'm thinking of zipping over to Canterbury Records in Pasadena in my new very red car.

So the mock-up was bought to be put on top of the Hoyt Hotel in Oregon, but never made it there.  The Filmways production company saw it and rented it from the hotel man before he left California.

He and his hotel got a credit on the series.

Tomorrow for Easter, we shall be going to a friend's house in Burbank for Easter brunch.  Last year, William Sanderson from DEADWOOD was there.  What a delightful fellow he is too!  Hope he'll be there tomorrow.

Ann Sheridan played Vermillion O'Toole in some movie.  I don't remember the name of it - but her character's name stuck in my brain.

The old Filmways shows used to be filmed at 1040 North Las Palmas - is there still a studio there?  What did it used to be?

Attention all you DR musician types, those who play, those who write, those who arrange, those who don't... what am I saying?  Anyhow, I was just looking at my "Martin Guerre" score (shhh.... don't tell anyone) and there is a musical term I'm not familiar with... the word is

cedez

It might be French, as it's written by a french person, but all of the other markings are in Italian.  Any insight?

Which version of the show is your score for?  I have the two CDs and they are quite different...just curios. ::)

Yes, they're the little black things you spit out of watermelon.  :)

In reality, it means "slow down, you fool, you're going too fast."  Or something like that.

DR George - the score is from the National Tour.  It follows the Black CD, sort of it, they re-arranged the song order in attempts to make it better, of course, and it did - at least in Act One.  Act Two, sadly, fell on its face.  Anyhow, I love the first version of the show the best, and there are some elements that are still in the re-write that aren't on the CD.  I'm a big fan.

What have I gotten myself into department:  I was contacted by a friend of a friend asking me to play synth for a high school production of Pajama Game, which I agreed to (they don't have sufficient instrumental capability among the students, so basically I am the orchestra).  Anyway, just got back from a meeting with the choral teacher of the school, who is going to play piano.  He told me he can't play the piano part.  He also spent a half hour denigrating all the other teachers involved in the production.  Methinks this is going to be a verrrry interesting production.

Yeah, what the hell is your name, anyway?   ;D  It seems like half the cast of those two movies you mentioned were in both films.  You're evidently not Mick.  Are you Tom?

Favorite Paul Henning show is and always will be GREEN ACRES. In fact, now that I've finished FRIENDS and am halfway through LAURA, I may go next to the GREEN ACRES 2nd season box since they can be watched so quickly.

As for Linda Kaye on PETTICOAT JUNCTION, she started billing herself as Linda Kaye Henning in the show's final years.

LAURA looks mostly wonderful. Yep, there were a few specks and a small scratch or two, but basically it couldn't be better. Such a classic!

While I watch the first couple of years of Bev Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction, I was never much into Cornpone TV and never cared for Green Acres at all. I've never been a fan of  either Eva Gabor or Eddie Albert.

Strangely, I always had a mild fondness for Hee-Haw for some reason.

I watched PETTICOAT JUNCTION to the bitter end, but I always felt June Lockhart was out of place. I wonder why she ever agreed to join the cast. Did CBS have her under contract and just stuck her in there. It always seemed like such an odd match.
