WALTZING INTO APRIL
« on: March 30, 2005, 11:59:02 PM »

Well, you've read the notes, you are bidding March a fond farewell, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come waltzing home.

And the word of the day is: PARADIGM.

One of my favorite songs - Buddy, Can You Paradigm.

Well, I suppose I shall waltz into the bedroom environment.

DR Danise - It looks to me like it is a wrapper from a Ricola Throat Drop.  Maybe someone gave you one?  Or at least the wrapper before a show?

And the winner is:   DR JOSE!  Yes, it IS a Ricola Throat Drop wrapper!  It was given to me, me, me by our very own BK!

I am unsure how to treat this gift—I’m thinking of having it set in a plastic cube, like the moon rocks I saw at the museum.

Yes, folks, look in envy at me.  Some people just get an autograph.  I have a Ricola Throat Drop Wrapper!

Happy Birthday, DR Ann!

I wanted to say to DR Penny how very much I enjoyed the show and meeting you and all the other DR’s in person.   I am reading the book and plan on showing it and all of my pictures around at work (a four letter word!).

A speedy and safe trip to your parents side, DR Penny.  Spend every precious moment you can with them.

Glad to hear that all is going well for you, DR Jose with the new show.  A bit of trip triva—I knew where the Muse was because of the big Mamma Mia! sign at the end of the street on Broadway.

Good job vibes to DR Jrand!

Gotta run, the bus, the bus!

I'm not partial to "True Love," but I know my Dear Friend BK is, and that's one more waltz.  So is "One More Kiss."

Re: American Idol

I didn't want to really say anything last night (before it had aired), but I was surprised with the bottom 3.  Yes I knew there was a chance Anwar would be in it.  But to have Anwar AND Nadia was a bit ridiculous (IMO).

I knew that people like Vonzell and Nikko would be safe because of the judges' comments.  And I figured Jessica would be bottom 3.  But I definitely thought Scott or Anthony had a good shot at being at the bottom.

To me Nadia and Anwar are two of the best.  And it was disappointing to see them almost go so early (especially with the good comments Nadia got).

My favorite waltz is one by Mason Williams that deals with a three legged gal - Woody will provide details.

Runner up is:

The Wiener Schnitzel Waltz  by Tom Lehrer

Quote
Do you remember the night I held you so tight,
As we danced to the Wiener Schnitzel Waltz?
The music was gay, and the setting was Viennese,
Your hair wore some roses (or perhaps they were peonies),
...
I remember the night I held you so tight,
As we danced to the Wiener Schnitzel Waltz.
Your lips were like wine (if you'll pardon the simile),
The music was lovely and quite Rudolf Frimly.

Ah, rhymes sublime, in three-quarter time.

Speaking of rhymes, does "paradigm" rhyme with "pidgon"?

Feet, dancing feet. How lovely to see dancing feet.

Chorus Line (movie)  had no dancing feet >:(
This King and I has no dancing feet:

PS I think Anna would be stunning in an amethyst gown rather than that faded mauve thing she has on.

A paradigm is 20 cent.

A "Happy Birthday" (performed in strict waltz time) to Ann!

I like Loesser's "Red Rose Cotillion".

Question for DR WFO:  How is Angel Jim and his family doing? When is the next hearing?

Thank you for asking, DR Laura.  As it happens, I am right this very moment witing a letter to the Parole Board.

Since the last postponement of his hearing, Jim was transferred to Attica (Oh, an Al Pacino reference!), which involved, of course, another postponement.  He is however scheduled to appear before the Board next Tuesday the fifth, for which I will be requesting vibes and xylophones.

Not to get into too much detail about his family's tribulations, I would like, however, to indulge in a brief RANT  against MCI®[/b] :

It seems that MCI® has the exclusive contract as long-distance carrier for the New York State Prisons.  Prisoners are allowed to make collect calls, but not to receive calls, and they must call only numbers on their official "call list".  Of course, MCI® charges exorbitant rates for these calls.

But MCI® has no billing agreement with AT&T®, and so Jim's mother has received a bill from MCI®, which she paid.  Nontheless, they put a block on her phone, so it cannot be called from the prison.  Endless calls to MCI® to have it removed resulted in constant frustration and continuous sales pitches to change her LD carrier to MCI® .  Eventually the block was removed.  But after a couple of calls from Jim, it was blocked again.

They told her she can have only six calls a month.  Of course, if she changed her carrier to MCI®, she could have unlimited calls.  Supposedly tomorrow she will be able to receive calls.  Meanwhile, Jim has to relay information through us.  We have yet to receive a bill from MCI® or to be blocked.

Now I suppose our chats will have lots of content-related ads for MCI®.  May I suggest that you all ignore these ads?  I would not recommend MCI®.
