I think that I will make some spaghetti today.....

Yesterday my niece posted on BookFace that she had some salads that had been donated to her workplace......fresh-ish.....and that everyone had taken what they wanted.....she offered some to anyone who wanted them.

I said I would take a few.....so she brought me four.  It's a nice salad with different kinds of lettuce, red & green peppers, some red sliced onions and a chicken tender....with dressing in a cup on the side.

It was good.  And I have three left....for this weekend.

Depending on how I feel when I get up, I might treat myself to Cheesecake Factory delivery - free - and get my favorite fafalle with roasted garlic or chicken or the spicy chicken dish I love.  We shall see - or that might be a better thing for Sunday.  I will say this - I'm having a LOT more variety these days - otherwise I'd just be at Jerry's Deli every day.

I could go for a Cheesecake Factory delivery.

DR Vixmom I hope you can quickly get some sort of compensation from the government and I am sorry your boss didn't get things set up in time to work from home.

Sorry to hear about Kenny Rogers.  I still have the debut album of The First Edition signed to me by Kenny.  His then-wife Margo was Hedy La Rue in How to Succeed with me at LACC and he hung around all the time and was super nice.  And super complimentary about my songs, which he would frequently ask me to play him.

Nice memories.

Annabelle's congestion seems to have broken up.  She's still having occasional huge fits to clear her head of crap but the raspy breathing and runny nose seem to be over.  I think the Lysine is doing great.

So yesterday my "quick" visit to the doctor's office took almost two hours due to really long waits in between each thing. But one nice new thing was accomplished -- I finally got a pneumonia shot.

I'd made a start on that a few years ago when it consisted of two shots, but somehow or other either the doctor's office or the pharmacy or maybe even I, DR ChasSmith, dropped the ball on getting the second of the two. So they said to take the single one now and I can forget about it. It's a one time only thing. The two-shot version might still be for a younger age group, I'm not really certain how that works. But I'm happy to be covered now.

I'm sure this made interesting reading. You're all quite welcome. I mainly thought of posting it because I can feel it in my upper arm this morning. Like a flu shot, it's just a little tender.

Now I have to call Walmart because I've heard not a peep about my prescription refill.

EDIT:  Just heard the peep. I'll go pick it up later.

I've only eaten at Katz's once and I look forward to my eventual return.

I agree with BK that in spite of how good it is, the pastrami must remain a close second to one's first place. In BK's case, it's Langer's. Sadly, I've never eaten there, so in my case, it's the long lost Carnegie Deli on Seventh Ave. in Manhattan.

But Katz's is a little different. In spite of being so well known, it remains a neighborhood joint and eating there is an adventure. It's off the beaten track for tourists and its main attraction for them is as a filming location, notably the "I'll have what she's having" scene.

The thing about their pastrami is that it's sliced thicker in comparison with most others. This results in a different mouth-feel from what many of us are used to. But it's all good. And those latkes look great. I want some. Right now.

But my memory agrees with BK about the pickles being a little weird. I don't know why that would be, but I recall being a little disappointed in the half sours, normally my absolute favorite.

Do you think some would help with self-quarantining?

I’m surprised somewhat and not surprised by Vixmom’s work news. People have time on their hands now, but they aren’t buying new. With the reduced prime rates people are calling us like crazy to refinance loans. We’ve had a 400% increase in that area this month.

There was the original shot and later they came out with the second one.  I am curious what you had.  Were you given something that says the official name?

Where is the photo of the rye bread?  Was it also good?  The mini latkes looked delicious.

They didn't give me any paperwork, and I wish I could remember what they called it! I'll post it when I find out.
