Saturday evening greetings!  Our Easter preparations included something I never thought we’d have to do:  setting up our dining room as a Zoom broadcast studio for Fr. Richard to celebrate Easter Sunday mass.  I will take a photo tomorrow morning of him at the altar of “Holy Angels Chapel.”

The journalists who are working from their homes ALWAYS have a bookcase of some sort behind them. I imagine your "backdrop" will be a bit different. Good luck with it!

DR Jeanne, his backdrop is a bookcase that took the place of the piano we gave to Rob and Mary Linda.  My angel collection, minus the obvious Christmas elements, is on top and in the shadow box on the wall.  They’re usually put away by this time of year, but I decided we need all the angels we can get right now.

When I’m on video at my desk, I do have bookcases behind me.  It always amazes me how little thought some people seem to have put into what they’re going to look like on screen.

Looking at clips on facebook I have come to the conclusion more people need to inform the people in their household to keep their closes on and stay out of the room ;D

I know someone shot Hit Song and I have never seen a frame of it.  I'd like to see it, too, as I was proud of the production and the cast, no matter how bad the show itself still was, book-wise.  I was able to mitigate some of that - the reading in my living room of the original book had people screaming as if they were in a horror movie.  And in the end, the author turned on me - AFTER the fact - DURING the process he loved everything we did - EVERY single thing, and so did his wife who co-wrote.  But when alcoholics sit alone they get nuts and that's what happened.  Everyone apologized on his behalf, and he mad a half-assed attempt to do so, but that's why the show has gone nowhere and will never go anywhere ever.

And I keep thinking how good that burger and fries was.  Not too many fries, either.   The fries were supposed to be seasoned with their special stuff and I'd asked for it to be a lot, but it was very little and I even said they could give me a little in a cup, but, nope.  But boy was it gooooood.

I thought I'd caught up on the posts, but I missed the part about John G's sister. She's positive? Vibes to her and all of John G's family.

No. But she has pneumonia and needs plenty of rest. Thank you for asking.

He found a small gas leak (!), which he fixed. He said that they are rather common (!). He couldn't replace the thermostat because he hadn't seen it fail, but jiggled it to dislodge any dust or lint that might have built up inside. Last night it was fine.

When my friend Carol got back to Catskill this week, she discovered that she had a gas leak and that it killed her house plants. The guy who keeps her property for her while she's gone said he didn't smell anything.

Starting to watch The Cowboys. Was surprised to discover an overture. I'd forgotten John Williams did the score. But having an overture before a western seems odd to me.

Made pea mint soup and broiled some shrimp for dinner, before having a slice of pie. Haven't cooked this much in ages. Good stuff, IMO.

I have a framed, signed by Julie Andrews (to me), lobby card on my wall from VICTOR VICTORIA.

That's really cool, Druxy!

Gas here is $1.36 a gallon.

Prices here are still in the lower $2.00 range, but I'd heard (before all this Covid stuff) that Washington has the third most expensive gas prices, after Alaska and Hawaii.  I think it's because we have a lot of taxes added to it, but I'm not sure about that.

Back from a drive - lowest gas price in the City of Studio?  A new low of 3.65.  Lowest price two miles away in the Oaks of Sherman?  2.99.  First time under three bucks in years and years.  The Studio City stations sit completely empty and I hope their gouging puts them out of business - there is zero excuse for it other than they think they can get away with it.  At the 2.99 station - filled up with cars filling up.

Oh, my! :o Maybe we're not the state with the third most expensive gas!

Today, I went to my parents' house and helped my mom with organizing a few things in their shed.  There wasn't much, mainly just putting up things that were too high for her to reach.

After that, we ate some store-bought lasagna (not great) and garlic toast with actual mashed up garlic pieces in the butter...YUM!!

Did a quick Gelson's run earlier and had to done the new mask, which was fine for the five minutes I was in there.  Everyone had their masks, although one idiot woman, the minute she was out of sight of security, lowered hers.  Anyway, I got some chocolate mousse from the bakery and some whipped cream and I was done.

Has anyone read The Topeka School? I have to say, it's the only fiction I've read in some time that has used forms of the word "glossolalia" several times.

Thank goodness she wasn't home.

Our friends in the building smelled gas while checking our place and had the gas company out right away to fix the leak.
