And a mere twenty-two years ago, we had our own “Titanic Dinner” right here in this very house.

Those became popular in those days because of the movie, but ours was the first that we know of in this area.

Tuesday morning greetings!  It’s very cold here in SW Ohio - no porch reading this week!

I do have access to work email. Apparently a special project I have two of my team on for the rest of the year has had spectacular success in its second month. First month had a lot of work but the results were spotty. Now I can show them off. I love it when that happens.

I went to the corner mailbox to post some bills, and I was delighted to see the corner bodega is open again.  It was nice to see everyone working there and to learn their families so far are safe,

The current ASPCA TV ad has this beautiful song "I'll stand by you," and it's such a nice contrast to Sarah McLachlin.  I love her singing, but she's so droopy when she speaks in these commercials.

Next week, we're going to start learning music...virtually. :o That's going to be an adventure.  The show is supposed to run June 12-28, so there's plenty of time to learn things.  They're also going on the assumption that things will be better by then.  Hopefully they will!!

Have fun rehearsing.

I had a phone call from my friend John Sheehan yesterday.  I told him the story of Lady Macbeth's surprise and unwelcome phone call, and we decided that she was calling in hopes that the virus was killing me.  I've made Randy promise to tell them nothing about my kidney surgery if he happens to run into them.

That was something I hadn't thought of.    I would think not telling sharing any news about you was a given.

My brother Randy just called to check on me.  His daughter-in-law Corby is a nurse, and he says things aren't so bad for her.  We also had a laugh over the Macbeth's phone call.  I told him that I thought if I'd told the Macbeths the virus was killing me, they'd be driving to Ohio to steal whatever they could.  Randy agreed.

Since the only thing I figured Fred Meyer would have these days that Safeway wouldn't was my ice cream, I tried to convince to Keith to skip Fred Meyer.  Next time we will only go to Safeway.

There is such a difference between the two stores.  We feel stressed and exposed at Fred Meyer.

Safeway is basically a one way street, beginning with the entrance & ending with a different exit.  All the staff wear masks.  They have someone at the door sanitizing the shopping carts and limiting the number of people who enter.  We got there a little after 8:00 and didn't have to wait to enter.   I asked a worker if there were any wipes or sanitizer.  She had me wait, went into the back and returned with a can of Lysol spray.  I don't like Lysol spray but it isn't any worse than the Clorox cleaner we are spraying on paper towels.

Safeway had lots of Haagen-Dazs but not what I wanted, coffee and/or vanilla bean.

Back from banking.  Car almost didn't start this morning.  I guess I'll just let it play out and then call AAA and get a new one - this one's now three years old and may still be under warranty, but if not I'll just get one anyway.  It starts fine once you drive for ten minutes.
