I feel a little like a hypochondriac these days. Anybody else? I question every cough and sneeze. Can I smell? Can I taste? I asked myself these things almost daily.

LOL, whenever I cough I ask the same questions......if I smell something bad, I think "Oh good, I can smell"

DR VIXMOM this story answers a few more questions about the Where's My Payment site.  It's from my local Fox59 news station.

https://fox59.com/news/national-world/payment-status-not-available-irs-explains-error-message-users-encounter-on-get-my-payment-tool/

Just a few weeks ago I was combing the IRS site to find a way to submit my direct deposit information. The site said you can submit it when you use tax software to prepare your return or you can ask your tax preparer to do it. I asked my tax preparer since I could not find any way to do it myself. I think the Where's My Payment must be a new addition. A good idea, too. I'm sure many people are very anxious to receive their checks.

I had been checking the site regularly and yesterday or the day before was the first time the Where's My Payment worked for me

I’m settling in with Bandstand. I had liked the CD a lot. Hopeful it’s good.

Back from a quick Gelson's run.  Apparently 6:00 to 6:15 is the no-brainer.  At 7:00 there was a line outside - just five people, so I waited - only about a minute to get in and I must say I'm not quite understanding why the line was necessary as there couldn't have been more than twenty people in the entire market, scattered about.  Weird.  I'd hate to see how that would go if it actually had people inside.  I'm done with delivery food until Monday, I hope.  Got the makings for faux chicken stroganoff over rice, tuna pasta salad, and regular spaghetti with pink sauce - the tuna pasta is two days' worth of meals, so that will be Saturday and Sunday and tomorrow will be the faux stroganoff.  They had plenty of everything except - toilet paper - that continues to boggle my already boggled mind, the fact that people cannot wait to buy yet more toilet paper.  I understand that it's now readily available at Costco.  Go know.  No paper towels, little in the way of stuff like 409 - people must be going through that cleanser stuff one a day - I don't do that nonsense inside my house, since, well, I'm the only one here.  I wash my hands when I come in and that's IT.

My employer just sent out a message that the city is now mandating we have to wear a face mask when out in “pubic.” I was not given the chance to edit the message.

Bandstand is choreographed within an inch of its life. I wish the director had paid that much care to the book. The stars are charismatic. Beth Leavel doesn’t have much to do and sells every second she’s on stage.

I had no interest in Bandstand at all, mostly for the reasons JohnG stated - just don't like the director.

Well that sort of defeats the purpose, IMHO

I ordered some masks and was pleased to get a notice from UPS that it was going to be delivered tomorrow since Saturday starts mandatory masks in public and the ones I am using now are not user friendly

One question, have all of you who received your checks already filed your 2019 taxes?

I have not yet filed my 2019 taxes, but I have received the $1,200 stimulus by automatic deposit, not by a mailed check.

Nothing has happened out of the ordinary.  All my coughs and sneezes seemed normal, so I haven't been worried, yet. :)

Local television is broadcasting the funeral of a female police officer who was shot and killed in the line of duty last week.

It is being held at the IMS but no public is invited.....fellow officers are staying in their cars.....

It is all very sad.

That is sad. :(

Thursday morning greetings!  My book group meets tonight on Google Hangouts and I can’t wait to see my friends!

I had a Microsoft Teams video meeting for work today.  It worked for the most part, and was informative.  We're still aiming for some people to come back to work on May 5 (my birthday!), and other people maybe getting work laptops to bring home until everyone can come in to work for normal.  The plan is still to have the public branches not open until later in the month.  I forget when, though.

No mail - two days in a row.

I just realized that I didn't check mine today.  I haven't left my house, and I haven't even taken a shower. :o

There was a very negative story about us on the front page of the New York Times, making us appear to be the digital incarnation of Ebenezer Scrooge. We automatically took people’s stimulus checks and applied the money to outstanding debts, whether people wanted thst or not — and while we’re supposedly in a grace period for everyone. Well, it must have hit the fan with a great force. We’re changing our ways and retroactively doing what we should have done in the beginning, letting people have their stimulus checks in whole and doing with them what they want.

John, "us" who?

There's a restaurant here called the Carving Board, which used to make really good sandwiches. Brian worked there, but after he left they never made my sandwich right, so I stopped going there. I went there today, for take-out, as options are limited. Still not as good as I remember, but at least my order was correct. And the snarky young female order-taker wasn't there.

Maybe they fired her.

I suspect so. I feel very bad for all those people losing their jobs, but she was very bad for business. The supervisor was in there today and I didn't see anyone else.

When I've gone to Red Wagon during the last several weeks, only the owner and his wife have been there.  I guess they fired their former staff because they have a "Now Hiring" sign on their front door...preparing for when they can open fully...and hopefully they're able to hire back former staff.  They were pretty much all really nice and good workers.
