TCB hopefully Nicky's problem is manageable through high fiber food. There are different foods that you can get with high fiber.   Callie had a physical obstruction that was permanent so we dealt with occasional enemas her whole life.  I had to give her stool softeners every day.  Her last vet had me sprinkle miralax on her food.  Can't remember the dosage, but it was easy to do. Might be something you could ask your vet about if this is a recurring problem.   Vibes Nicky feels better once he recovers from the enema.

I've had several major research and writing projects for work this month, 2 1/2 done 2 1/2 to go. The last one I literally sat and wrote for 12 hours the other day.  I took a few breaks, but just sitting and typing that long has made by body really ache.  I'm better today than yesterday.  But have a couple big deadlines left for Tuesday so I need to get back at it soon

My nephew was supposed to be done with his volunteering in NYC today but he decided to stay another week.  The funeral home isn't caught up yet.  He's also had a number of pick ups from people who died at home.  I wonder if hey are counted in the death toll.

The replacement charging cord I ordered 3 weeks ago on Amazon finally came in. Nice to be able to us my favorite lap top again.

Well . . . I've made better pasta sauce.  It will do, but I'll be happy when it's finished up.

When the boss handed out our paychecks today he mentioned that they paid us for this past Monday, when we were closed for cleaning.  Additionally we each received 5 hours of overtime pay...at   time + 1/2 for working during the pandemic.  He said that extra pay will continue through the shutdown period.

Wow!  I want to work in your office.

No sh kidding.

I nearly shut the garage door

My sister Linda just called. Dad’s younger brother, James, has died. He, too, had dementia and who knows what else. The service is tentatively set for September. My sister thinks I ought to be able to make that. I laughed at her. Gently.

I am so sorry John

Shouldn't he be doing direct deposit during this time?  I cannot imagine going to the bank or bank machine right now.

We do get direct deposit but we still get a facsimile check that shows how much we are receiving and taxes taken.. I am sure he mentioned it because most of us don’t look at them because they are the same every week and also so none of us would think an error had been made

They were saying on the news that if they weren’t tested they won’t be included in the official death toll, I think they should keep a running total of suspected covaid tests

I was quite pleasantly surprised at this turn of events

Especially after the concerns you had when you had to be closed on Monday!   Good news!

Exactly, I was concerned they would decide to just wait it out...

Facebook today is a classic example of why it's a cesspool.  There were two stories today and the headlines screamed in all the posted articles: FLORIDA OPENS BEACHES!!! and the other: TEXAS IS RE-OPENING NEXT WEEK, all followed by the usual Facebook screaming and yelling and berating.  The photo that accompanied the beaches story was just what you'd expect, a crowded beach filled with sunbathers.  Well, I did what nobody else does - I clicked through and actually read the articles for both stories and lo and behold what do I find?  FLORIDA in general is NOT opening beaches - ONE county, Jacksonville, is, but only for stuff like walks - the beach is, in fact, CLOSED from 11am to 5pm and is ONLY open for walks and jogs (NO sunbathing, NO volleyball or that kind of activity) from nine to eleven in the morning, and five to eight in the evening and social distancing MUST be observed.  Not one single person in any of these Facebook threads had actually bothered to find out the real story.   Not ONE.  Now, one could take the position that the early re-opening stuff is only supposed to be for stuff to help the economy, which this clearly is not.

As to Texas "re-opening" well no, not really.  Parks will be opened, but they were open two weeks ago and then closed, masks must still be worn in parks and distances kept.  That's that.  And stores will be allowed to re-open - WAIT - only for "to-go" business, i.e. you can't go IN the store to shop, you have to order online or phone and have it delivered or at a curbside pick-up.

So, in both cases we have screaming and yelling over what exactly?  There are so many things to be outraged about, and legitimately so.  These two instances are not, in my opinion.  But no one knows that because they can't read beyond a click-bait headline.

And please understand that I am not condoning or not condoning these actions, I'm merely saying what they're actually doing.

My condolences on the loss of your uncle.  Unless we have a vaccination I doubt you will be going to the service.  I pray there is one as I want to hold Freyja.

I think that this is probably quite common.  And I was sort of like this at the beginning of isolation. But since I am not going to any stores and stay far away from people outside ... I find that I have not been excessively questioning every cough or symptom.

I wish I did have it because my symptoms aren't bad and then I would be done with it ;)

We have been to our bank and it was far better than going to the market.  Hand sanitizer everywhere, tellers behind glass, and tellers using hand sanitizer.  I hope DR Vixmom's bank is as nice.

Bless your nephew.  Hmm, interesting question about the toll count.

It was perfect weather today and we were able to wear shorts & t-shirts on our afternoon walk.  We should have gone to Fort Vancouver though as all the covidiots were out.

Keith & I intentionally put a few pounds on, just in case we get sick.  Those pounds are fine in our warmer walking clothes.  Our nicer shorts are now a bit tight and we can't go out and buy more.

For me, it takes years in-between finding a pair of shorts that fit. They never have a second pair for me to buy.

I had an acupuncture appointment today, which I really needed. My acupuncturist texted me early this morning, saying that maybe we should wait. Nooooo!!!  I explained that I've been in a lot of pain and NEED treatment. What don't doctors and nurses understand about chronic pain? Do they think it's very occasional? Gawd! I persuaded her to treat me. I hadn't known that I've been her only patient since she reopened two weeks ago, but today someone else came in, too.

I stopped afterwards at a Mediterranean restaurant. I hadn't been there before because it seemed  rather high-priced for what it was. But the food was actually quite good. I had a falafel wrap with a small salad. I'll go back.

There was a sign on the door: "No mask. No entry."

That's the first time I've seen that.

Thank goodness someone else showed up today.  Maybe she can schedule you both again on the same day.

Did you all wear masks?

There's an optician nearby that is doing their best to stay in business and serve its customers during the lockdown. I give them a lot of credit. I don't wear contacts and need prescription sunglasses, not non-prescription--the two items they're selling--but I may contact them about adjusting my glasses. I just don't believe that there isn't some way we can do more to take care of people's medical/dental/optical needs that is still in keeping with the distancing and other guidelines.
