OH...

Brian Grant is on The Lakers - I guess he was in Memphis the other night.  -Which explained all the limos and people who were out and about the other night.  Apparently, Kobe stayed in his room.  ;)

Michael Bay is a director.

And Mental Theo is apparently some famous club DJ.

Who knew?

And here I was thinking he was Mental Vincent's brother.

Re a mention earlier from DR JRand of Bobby Rydell. As these things happen, I was listening to the radio yesterday and there was Bobby Rydell singing "Volare:. I had mentioned to partner Colin that I remember thinking way back then how it was so "rocked up". I had been used to the Domenico Modugno and Dean Martin versions. Now it could well be Michael Bublé. Maybe a follow up to his version of "Sway". I always liked the Rydell recordings - a terrific big band sound at times.

For the trivia minded, I have a version of Volare by Pia Angeli too.

And of course the McGuire Sisters also recorded Volare.

What does it mean if someone is requesting my profile at Classmates.com?  I don't think I have a profile at Classmates.com.  Methinks this is some sort of sales gimmick to get me to "Go Gold," whatever the hell that means.

That seems odd.  I suggest you go to classmates.com and check if your name is in there.  I have never heard of them soliciting anyone.

I'm outside on my patio, because it's a completely stunningly gorgeous day, not a cloud in sight and wonderully warm.

I love wireless.  I love the fact that the Powerbook screen automatically adjusts for whatever light its in.  Oh, and remember how I couldn't find my wireless mouse anywhere and had to buy a new one?  I just went to my computer case to get the new one out to use outside.  I looked in the wrong pocket.  Guess what I found in the wrong pocket.  The other wireless mouse.  Go know.

Today we went to Costco and picked up some phones that shouldn’t interrupt my wireless connection.  They still need to be charged before I can test them.

Re:  birds.  We saw the most incredibly beautiful birds when I took the kids on their field trip to the zoo earlier this week, and I believe these birds are native to Australia:  the lorrikeet (sp?).  They had the most incredibly rich, gorgeous hues of blue, red and orange I have ever seen.  I was literally awestruck.

Local native birds here indeed JMK. We have them here in the summer when the Eucalypts bloom.. Green and rainbow Lorikeets.  They create quite a noise with their chatter.

I've watched one Hong Kong musical, about which more later.  I'm on Hong Kong musical two, which I wished I'd watched first.

Gig Young.

MR BK was talking about him in TEACHER'S PET this week with Doris Day and Clark Gable.

Mr Gig Young is so terrific.  And as good as Tony Randall is in PILLOW TALK, Mr Gig Young would have made it a contest.  Opposite Doris and Cary Grant in THAT TOUCH OF MINK, Mr Gig Young is terrific.

His AA performance in THEY SHOOT HORSES, DON'T THEY? is one of those that really made me happy.

And as DRJMK has written - Mr Gig Young's second wife was Sophie Rosenstein who got her studio acting coach job through Frances Farmer who had been her student at the University of Washington.

I checked my email and it seems I also have something from classmates.  They want me to renew my membership so I can see who the three people are that were interested in my profile.  They were probably me.  ;D

JMK I’m guessing you have registered, just haven’t paid any membership fees.  I did try and find you but without the name of your high school forget it.  Do you know how many Jeff Kaufman’s there are in this world!

I get those Classmates emails all the time.  I was doing some research and when you join you have to give your H.S. graduating year and school.  So if there is a post from someone, you always get notified.

JMK - I always ignore the emails.  Unless you're looking for someone from your Senior Class, I would do the same.

Yes, but how many Jeff KauFFmans are there?  :)

As I recall from one of our conversations, BK knows two Jeff Kauf(f)mans aside from me.  One of them, IIRC, was the Principal or Vice Principal of the high school where the girl was murdered.  Am I remembering that correctly?  We discussed so very much that day at Jerry's, it's hard to remember it all.  ;)

Bruce, did you notice that.  JRand is receiving emails, through classmates, from long lost friends and not picking them up.  Now we know why that happens. ;D

Michael Clark Duncan got an Oscar nomination for THE GREEN MILE, and he was very effective in that role.

In DAREDEVIL, he gave one of the most amateurish performances I've ever seen. Anyone whose acting can make Ben Affleck playing opposite him look accomplished must be pretty bad.
